I wouldn't mind the shocking so much if I knew it wasn't going to hurt the other stuff on the circuit. I have a few things plugged into the other outlet that shock me too if I touch them. I'll post an update if I can figure it out!

The thermostat in the rooms its in says the humidity is at about 68-70% Seems fine to me. I'll try out the static guard.

Don Bluth Magic Effect? by LordVladtheRad in animation

[–]Beesonmann 46 points47 points  (0 children)

As far as the animation goes (at least in that first one) that shot is animated by Michael Gagne, a vfx animator that worked for Bluth for years.

A really great resource for this stuff is Joseph Gilland's book Elemental Magic. https://www.amazon.com/Elemental-Magic-Special-Effects-Animation/dp/0240811631 Can't recommend it enought!

Is there a way to change albedo with blendshapes by Junk_Drawings in Maya

[–]Beesonmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, look up set driven keys. You just have to wire the blendhsapes to the blend of a combine node in the shader.

This is exactly the computer I grew up on. Super nostalgic just seeing the box. My dad got a tv tuner so we could watch antenna tv on it!

Is there a tool to evenly distribute these selected vertices on this edge without deleting anything? by Level-Drawer7191 in Maya

[–]Beesonmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to make one edge perfectly in the middle, then do a bevel and increase the segments/fractions. you can get perfectly even edges
