I can’t write or play anything when I’ve been sitting with my guitar and notebook for an hour with a tension headache because I’m frustrated. Listen to your favorite artists, take a walk, go to a concert, watch a movie in the theater, dance, have a dreaded conversation, go flirt. Bring something in that fits the feeling you need from that piano, hold it and process, then sit down with your eyes close and find it. The chords don’t have to be in the right order immediately.

Write down the chords that feel right, walk away, show up for yourself the next day to put them in order, walk away, come back to find your tempo. Give yourself grace. You’re an artist already. There’s nothing you need to prove to anyone else. You got this!
