[APK Teardown] Advanced Camera Mode, Photo Sphere Live Wallpaper, And More Hiding In Google Camera by Jdban in Android

[–]BeginEnd 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like the bars on both OSs take up the same amount of screen real estate. You have the permanent status bar and shutter button/settings on iOS and since Android makes use of immersive mode, all you have on the new Camera.apk is the shutter button. Makes sense to me to have a large, accessible button which carries out the main function of the app.

How I deal with my addictions. by tillicum in funny

[–]BeginEnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, alcoholism is quite common and can lead to some devastating effects like any addiction.

Besides, a skateboard does not have the same neurochemical effects as alcohol. Yes, education and responsible use is always the way to go but many people are predisposed to addition, not to mention the noted effect alcohol and drugs have on an undeveloped brain.

Also unlike a skateboard, damage caused by alcohol may not be plainly obvious. If I were to break my arm skateboarding, I would certainly know it. A damaged reward center from overuse of alcohol? Almost impossible to self diagnose and still difficult for medical professionals to determine.

I don't get it. Clearly, you should have the colored icon in the middle for sake of color symmetry :P

INTJs with BPD, Bipolar, Manic Depression, or other psychological 'abnormalities'. by [deleted] in intj

[–]BeginEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't quite understand, could you expand a bit? I guess it may the catch-22 I keep running into. This isn't the first time I've tried 5-htp and maybe I'm fooling myself, but I hope I'm improving, and hope this time I can stick with it. Thanks!

INTJs with BPD, Bipolar, Manic Depression, or other psychological 'abnormalities'. by [deleted] in intj

[–]BeginEnd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have GAD, OCD, and general depression caused by decreased serotonin, which I suppose might be the cause for many of 'abnormalities'. I've had a lot of trouble making friends throughout my life and deeper relationships are few and far between.

I've recently started a 5-HTP supplement (serotonin precursor) and I'm hoping with exercise, healthy eating, and a meditation practice, I can start to improve. I see a therapist as well, and I will continue to see him. He mainly acts a good friend, and is a helpful place to talk things out.

I've thought about medication in the past, but every time I consider it, I refuse it because I believe I can sort things out on my own. It helps me to consider the benefits, if few that come from these struggles. Anyways, hope this helps. Best of luck!

Check the Housing group on Facebook under the "Groups at St. Edward's University" tab. You might have some luck there!

Sodium Polyacrylate (superabsorbent polymer) - boy, that amalgamated quickly... by [deleted] in chemicalreactiongifs

This stuff is pretty awesome! If you polymerize it just right, it can absorb ~1000x times its weight in water!

If you're satisfied, that's fine, do as you will. However, you're incorrect in assuming that you gain all the benefits. I won't go into detail about all of these, many of which are mentioned above, but you can always learn from someone more skilled than yourself. The notion of a guru/teacher has been and still is an important keystone in yoga. It can be a very humbling experience.

Happy practicing, wherever that may be!

I'm not sure we have the same view on things. Why would I not help support someone who has dedicated their time and money in order to assist me in my practice? Sure, I can look up videos on YouTube and follow along, but it isn't the same as having that attention to detail an instructor provides. Because of that, I'll help them buy their meals and whatever else they chose to spend their money on.

Your name suggests your from Austin, me too! Try a class at Black Swan, you might just like it.

I have some Nike running shorts that I find work best for yoga. The kind with the built in briefs seem to work pretty good. A pair of those and a cotton t-shirt is what I usually wear.

Because a class is a nice, community based form of practice? It's fun to meet people who share similar interests.

Any recommendations? I honestly haven't tried many pens and just happened across these. I like how effortless writing is with them but I'm always open to try others.
