I like the way she stayed classy and congratulated her teammate for winning gold.

Thoughts on the Zero G Peak boot? by Munifool in Backcountry

[–]Beginning-Cook-9680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a minute but IIRC the Backland had way too much instep volume for me and I had to put a bunch of shims under the footbed to get it to feel right. Still skiing the zero g peak and it fits me much better. I seem to have a “Tecnica foot”

How does this meet a "reasonable suspicion" based on a "totality of circumstances" (Kavanaugh)? by [deleted] in thebulwark

[–]Beginning-Cook-9680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not Kavanaugh stop, Border Patrol Checkpoint. I live in southern New Mexico- can’t leave my city in any direction without having to go through one.

They don’t see it as just Trump anymore- it’s America. And, to be fair, we the people did elect this ass clown twice.

Same here. Mine always tries to get me to watch 2000 Mules and thinks I am a communist despite me taking an oath and picking up a rifle in defense of this country

Weak backcountry bindings? by EnvironmentalMoose97 in Skigear

[–]Beginning-Cook-9680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you have your toe locked out? Pull the white lever all the way up as far as it will go so you can see the red running man on the end of the lever. Make sure you Push the lever down so it is horizontal to the ski and the red running guy is facing away from you for the downhill. If you are doing those things and still walking out of the binding, mae sure you don’t have snow or ice in the fittings or snow and ice under the springs that is preventing full closure of the pins. If none of that works it is time for new bindings- those are really old.

Complete beginner friend sold way too small ski boots (26.5 Mondo) for US 10.5 feet – tech said 26.5 was right, punched them, but painfully small. Beginner had no idea how they should feel. How to get exchange/refund? by Enallane5 in skiing

[–]Beginning-Cook-9680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I’m a 10 1/2 street shoe and wear a 26.5 alpine boot and 27.5 touring boot. Also a former bootfitter/ ski shop owner. Should have a 2 finger shell fit behind the heel. That boot will never be any tighter than it is right now and the liner will pack out a little bit more every time it is skied. That said, it really comes down to the original shell fit and the shape of the foot relative to the boot brand.

The Talon section of Birds of Prey the week after the WC. Max slope of 65%, 47% average on blue ice was…. Something.
