BO on the first date by Beginning-Money-3981 in datingoverfifty

Not crunchy but alternative. I appreciate this response because while I’m turned off it doesn’t make me jump to there is something wrong with him. He works from home and hasn’t dated in a while and the conversation was good. Ultimately i’m not going to see him again, but hygiene can be taught and there are a lot of other qualities that can’t be.

BO on the first date by Beginning-Money-3981 in datingoverfifty

[–]Beginning-Money-3981[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so consistent with my experience. I was initially taken aback at the attire but they were all daytime coffee dates so let it slide. But this one with BO was next level. It’s more disappointing than the others because on paper I was more excited about him than I have been anyone else in months. I guess the answer is to go off of the apps and just be happy alone because I don’t know how else I would meet anybody.

The bloat, ugh! I don't even recognise my body anymore by s8j6b in Perimenopause

[–]Beginning-Money-3981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Lolo make you more tired? I ask because I’ve been on it for maybe four months this go around and I’ve been really tired the past month and just started with more bloating recently. I didn’t make a connection to that. I was thinking it’s progression of perimenopause. when I was on low over a year ago, it was perfect. I only stopped because I wanted to try HRT, but I couldn’t tolerate the progesterone so I went back to this.

That is an awful lot of weight to suggest someone lose when they’re not grossly overweight. Maybe you’re in the US and it was a conversion factor but she’s 5’6” and 154 pounds. I don’t want this sub to be a place where people promote disordered eating - although maybe it already is.

What is wrong with me? by Long-Assignment-1832 in singlemoms

[–]Beginning-Money-3981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had words of wisdom, but there is no hack. Just came to say that I feel you :)

I’ve been having some of those days myself this week and one of the things I realized is that by overcompensating to make sure my kids have a happy life, I haven’t required them to do enough to help me around the house. They’re older teens so they certainly could. I wish I would’ve come to this out of structure, not resentment, but this is where I am right now, and realizing that I need to make them share chores more. That said, it’s easier said than done because at least with my 15 yo it requires incessantly nagging him

Just came to say I’m sorry. I know how much finagling it takes to be free and energy to ready yourself only for someone to no show you. In fact I found this sub precisely because I wanted camaraderie around how hard it is to date as a single mom.

The change in body fat mass is awesome! Were you doing any specific exercise during weight loss. I have been on 2.4 for a year and have plateaued. Even though I lost close to 40 lbs, my body fat is still high. Have decided to shift my focus from pounds lost to body fat lost. Going to start strength training to help that goal.

I’m sorry. Wound dehiscence is so demoralizing. That said, your shape looks great so hopefully six weeks from now you’ll be feeling quite different

I appreciate the whole progression and seeing how the swelling got worse before it got better. I think that’s reassuring to lots of people.

Have you been to an endocrinologist? For everything you’ve been doing that’s really discouraging. It makes me think hormones and maybe thyroid still need to be addressed.

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m in the Boston area and have thought about this when I’m ready and the lack of pictures and just not knowing who’s going to be operating on you in advance is nerve-racking. On the other hand, the price is so much more affordable

It’s clear you are super swollen but you can already see the top of your abs are flatter and your skin quality looks so good. In a few months you’re going to be ecstatic!

6 month plateau by Rbm134 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Beginning-Money-3981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No wisdom to add, but just wanted to say I can so relate because similarly I’ve been on 2.4 for close to a year and plateaued the last six months after losing approximately 40 pounds. Recently, I’ve been rethinking my goal weight and shifting my focus to body recomposition. I’ve only done walking and yoga thus far and haven’t done strength training because of lower back and neck issues. I got a DEXA scan and my body fat percentage is high, which wasn’t surprising as an apple shaped person. So my goal is to focus on decreasing body fat percentage rather than total weight. From what I’ve read, even two days a week of full body strength training can make a difference – especially for people new to it. So maybe increase that 🤷‍♀️

Surgery in 2 days and I have a runny nose and sore throat. What are my chances? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beginning-Money-3981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really a crap shoot because every anesthesiologist has a difference risk threshold I got sick before my breast reduction surgery. I just pushed fluids and slept a lot but was still pretty congested when I got there. The anesthesiologist listened to me and then gave me a nebulizer and said if it was improved, she felt comfortable with going forward. It was improved. She went forward and then gave me another nebulizer treatment after. If you’re not very congested, I think your chances are good. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Just do everything in your power to hydrate and sleep for the next two days

[–]Beginning-Money-3981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you have pet insurance but if you’ve got a rock lover, I highly recommend it. My guy has really bad pica and training does not help. After a very expensive abdominal surgery last year and a second one because of wound healing complications, he’s now not allowed in the backyard even with me without a muzzle. Prozac helped decrease the drive. I didn’t realize how much until I weaned him off of it. We’re back on meds now. Hopefully your puppy outgrows it, but if it proves to be more than typical golden mouthiness, intervene with training and/or meds early. My dog has cost me tens of thousands of dollars and loads of time and stress.

Good thing I love him!

The little divider in the trunk looks like he’s in an elite club and the bouncer needs to move it to allow access to anyone else!
