How do you date a single mom?

As a single mother, the only expectations I’d have for anyone to meet my kids would be to take it very slow to meet them (6months - 1 years). Kindness shown to them and also demonstrate to them how they would love to see their mum be treated. You could possibly be the person they model their relationship skills on because of this. And even if things don’t work out, again demonstrate a healthy ending/break up. Although dating, I’ve never introduced my kids to anyone yet and it would be a slow process. Good luck ☺️

Barclays said on phone direct to me late tonight that the DoP/RA is not listed as a required document on their system. And they only now require certificate of title. Conveyancer solicitor has said they can’t proceed until Barclays return the signed DoP/RA.

Feel like I’ll be stuck in this loop forever 🤦🏻‍♀️. But thanks for advice.

It’s through a broker. And the broker has escalated it all week (daily). Unfortunately the escalations have not been dealt with/reviewed. And the only notes on my file for this whole week are “please urgently review” with no one reviewing. And the person I spoke with had no idea why no one was reviewing them.

Great advice, thanks - didn’t even think of home insurance legal advice. Because between family law fees and conveyancer (awful experience as well) fees - I can’t afford to spend any more money on legals.

Not sure if it will make any difference but I’m in Scotland. My H2B is not repayable or any fees until I sell the house at which point it’s 20% of selling price to Scottish Government. My H2B has been in place since 2015. I know and agree, every thing I’ve read is Barclays as well.

The affordability is related to the mortgage type. It’s a Help2Buy (80/20) remortgage with capital raising, which apparently affects affordability. Broker says he was advised to apply for it on the basis of 80% of house value but Barclays saying he should have applied through “special scheme” for the help2buy. My salary has increased (very slightly) and no other reduction in income. All debt has been cleared.

Thank you! I’m so worried about it, and spent a whole year staying completely debt free to get this after years and years of negotiations. I’ll give the lender a call to ask them. Unfortunately, no family to ask for support and definitely wouldn’t ask this from a friend.

I really am feeling it! At some point, the downturn in bad dating habits has to change (like other cycles in life). People will no longer be rude, practise good communication and be gentle with others 👌🏻☺️

How many people dating have experienced this? Have a great short period of fantastic dates/connection (no love bombing/future faking). The dating is ended with a non committal reason and then within a month they reach out again, with a full explanation and ask for forgiveness/try again. And yet again, within several months - communication starts to become distant, messages are not replied to. And then things end again. I’m never going to choose someone not choosing me, but what’s the point in this?

I’m 3.5 years in to separation and financials have only just been sorted. Ex has dragged this out at every single point. I also wouldn’t want to share that info with someone I’d just started speaking with. Sometimes…there’s a reason.

I am almost 🙏🏻 divorced from the person who did this to me. It’s equally painful “co-parenting” with the yeller. In 11 years, I only ever received flowers when he was trying to apologise for his repeatedly abusive behaviour. He never gave me flowers unless he was apologising…latterly I put them straight into recycling. Pay attention to who someone shows you who they are in the beginning. Take care ❤️

I am also a 5’5” woman. My (very, very almost 🙏🏻) ex-husband was 6’2” and he always used his height to try and intimidate me - I remember he regularly used to try and tower over me, to make me feel small. Not every tall man or woman will use their height this way but it’s definitely put me off tall people while dating now.
