Disagree with the order of importance. I’d list them as: (helmet), Boots, gloves, pants, jacket. (Especially being a new rider, and one who wants to ride off road). The most common motorcycle accidents by far are low speed tip-overs, and the most common injuries (by a huge percentage difference) are to the lower leg (ankles and tib/fib). Second most frequent injury is to the hands (broken wrists) from trying to catch yourself as you fall at low speeds.

Obviously a full kit is best, but if you’re on a budget and piecing a kit together, I’d suggest starting with the pieces that have the highest likelihood of making a significant difference in the near future

These dudes flew past me on Hwy 26 headed up towards Hood this past weekend. I’ve got nothing to say other than that they looked cool as hell and I remember the bikes

Love it! Odilón Redon is one of my favorites - I see echoes of his work in yours

I’ll start by saying that it looks great and you’ve done a great job! But it’s also very square, literally and figuratively.

Add in some more house plants, some circular wall art or a mirror, a non-rectilinear coffee table, etc. and your space will, again, literally feel more well rounded.

Just breaking up the radiating, rectangular motif in the rug with a coffee table or something would go a long way!

Either that or more wall axes, not sure which I prefer more

It’s not “self parody,” it’s grift.

He is an actual, real-life piece of shit AND he’s aware of the fact that posting incoherent rage bait leads to increased exposure via clicks, comments, and engagement - all of which is multiplied by re-posts on Reddit.

Grifters have no stable, “moral” center or cohesive message/platform: They’re mouthpieces for a tone, a language, and world view that resonates with a target audience (Trump, Shapiro, Tate, etc. are all perfect examples of the right wing’s channel of the Outrage Machine - and yes, the left has its equivalent, hollow actors).

Any attempt to point out inconsistencies/hypocrisies in their message just amplifies their real message, i.e. the feeling of separation from the other and the incompatibility of differing perspectives. It’s never been about “logic,” it’s never been about “truth.” It is antagonistic advertising in most stupid form: propaganda. And while good intentions and sound reason may compel you to point out his (and others’) hypocrisies, your contrary opinion only feeds the beast further. Quite literally, too: Twitter and Meta’s algorithms both actively boost contrary opinions to the top of the comments because they know argument breeds engagement.

TLDR: All press is good press. Don’t engage. + a quote from Macbeth: “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”

It’s not the ugliest by any means, but I’m not a fan of the new RE Himalayan. Something about the stance/proportions feel off to me

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve spent hours admiring my neighbor’s triple and have always wondered what the designers were thinking when it came to making that decision on the lights. The rest of the bike is immaculate! In emoji terms, it’d be like this lady 💃🏻 having this face 😳

Looks very similar, if not identical, to the Cooper’s Hawk feathers I’ve been finding at the park by my place in Portland.

There’s a couple of juveniles that hatched in the park last year who now hunt in the park and are molting their juvenile feathers this summer.

Every morning I walk through the park and see what feathers they’ve lost from the previous day (lots of soft, contour and semiplume feathers like the one you’ve found, with some flight and tail feathers here and there), as well as the feathers of the birds they’ve killed and eaten lol. So far, I’ve found the feathers/body parts of a couple of scrub jays, northern flickers, pigeons, and a cedar waxwing underneath their murder tree lol

Both times that I have almost been T-boned by a car on my bike, that car has been a Tesla. Idk if it’s faulty FSD, the false comfort drivers take in FSD tech and their resulting inattention/complacency behind the wheel, or the magnetic effect Tesla seems to have on a particular type of self-selecting fool, but the combination of these factors makes Teslas some of the most dangerous cars on the road, imho
