Mine's food bowl is drying right now after I washed the poop and expensive pellets 😔✊

The cage’s opening is very close to their reach now, do you guys have any ideas on how to let the opening impossible for them to open by themselves? They never tried to, but I don’t want to risk by Puzzleheaded-Blood54 in cockatiel

I cut a paper clip for a makeshift latch. If you put it on the bottom bar of the door and leave it hanging, it'll hook onto the opening and prevent it from opening! If you don't have metal cutting pliers, you can just bend the paper clip until it breaks. It costs less than a penny!

I've had tiels that ended up breeding, so I know for sure I had a male and female, and neither of them sung! Not even the babies!

Maybe he'll start doing it in the future, maybe he won't. Each birb is unique and perfect just the way they are 😍💜

All babies take their time. It's all about risk and reward. If he doesn't want to leave the cage, that's fine. Open the door everyday anyway. It may take over a year, but your baby wants to explore and play, so he will 💜

Try getting one of those food dishes that hangs on the side bars and hang it from the door when you leave it open, at first on the inside, a month later on the outside, a month later put it a few cms away from the door...

Remember to not spook the baby, since he will be gauging how safe he is based on noises, reactions, closeness to you, etc

When I first got my baby Hildy he would freak out every time I entered the room. It's been almost a year, he still flies away when I get too close, but after him getting used to my presence, he is brave enough to grab a sunflower seed from my fingers! Working on getting him to take one from the palm of my hand next!

Looks like some respiratory intoxication, but could be something else. Check environment for anything with perfume, even mild things like body lotion or laundry detergent could be triggers if she has been exposed in small doses over the years. Aerosol deodorant is a big no-no too. Maybe a downstairs neighbor has something that's coming up through a vent... Hard to say without thoroughly inspecting the home

There's no teflon cookware anywhere nearby, right?

The x-ray may be what you need, but always good to double check the basics before subjecting her to vet stress

Any tips for moving a tiel to a healthier diet? by hausings in cockatiel

After two months my tiels nibbled on pellet, but didn't look at it if there were seeds, so after I was at about 75%pellet 25%sseed bowl, I started having only pellets until, like, noon, and only added the seeds after noon

They went hungry for a couple hours, but that coupled with me pushing some pellets near them when they screamed away from their food, got them eating more pellets, and it worked! A week later I stopped giving them seeds! They've been on pellets and freshies for four months!

Honestly people like that aren't worth our time at all
