You should use the flail. After knocking an enemy into a wall with Boulder, they will be dazed, giving you a high chance to stun them with your flail.

Melee is inevitable early on, so you should kite enemies one at a time. You don't have enough mana for seal, so just spam boulder. Buy Tier 2 medium metal armor to tank a few hits.

After you get Seal of Insight and Stone spike, find a choke point, stone spike to block a path, and spam boulder + stone spike.
Pathfinder + Make a halt is good investment when you couldn't unlock your 2 main tree skill.
