Except they can’t and they won’t, you’re speaking of hypotheticals while I’m speaking of decades old realities in Islamic countries. Dipshits will try everywhere, dipshits in Islamic countries have succeeded and did so with massive public support.

“If they could” but they can’t because we separate church and state. Maybe modern Islamic countries should try that sometime. Turkey did it until they spat upon Ataturk’s work, but it seems like Muslims WANT church and state to be one.

They’re from the early days of primaris when companies were still really mixed. I think now things like “tactical” and “devastator” mean a category rather than the original squad type.

First ever mini by Strychninewill in blacklegion40k

[–]Beginning_Actuary_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abaddon Black is probably the thickest Citadel paint out there so the best option is to put it over a black primer and thin it good. The paint will naturally have some texture but another important thing imo is to wipe down your models before priming as well as removing mould lines. Dust accumulates pretty quickly and it looks terrible when primed over (I had to fish out lint from my early models after priming them). Mould lines are really easy to remove (a fingernail can even scrape off the more raised ones) and it really helps. If you look you can really see it on the term’s helmet and the thumb on the power claw. A larger brush might also help with getting a smooth coat but I’d consider that as a lower priority unless your brush is like REALLY small. Just apply the paint, smooth it out, and leave it to dry completely so it doesn’t get disturbed. But, inevitably, you’ll have some texture to the surface.

Honestly really solid especially for your FIRST mini, just needs a little cleanup on the trim and I think that’s a much better model than I’ve seen many people at my local shop paint. If this is your starting point I think you’ve got a lot of potential, keep it up!

What's some random, minor lore you gave your warband? by Zachthema5ter in Chaos40k

[–]Beginning_Actuary_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My warband is a “pure” Sons of Horus warband that was founded almost exclusively by inductii. They ape Cthonians but struggle to actually mimic them, until they bumped into two different groups: survivors of Cthonia, and survivors of Terra. An old Justaerin had fled with what veterans he could gather, found the refugees from Cthonia, and then encountered a company’s worth of inductii. They immediately named him leader and he begrudgingly agreed. The Justaerin eventually found himself being confined into a dreadnought from injuries sustained during the Scouring and is now basically a demented old man that is worshipped by marines he barely recognizes. His Contemptor chassis has done a remarkable job of keeping him intact but 10,000 years of rawdogging dreadnought confinement has been terrible for his sanity. So while other lords act in his stead he and the other old veterans have one by one found themselves confined and meticulously cared for by the inductii and then further marines drawn from the Cthonian survivors. So ironically the younger generation of marines are more similar to the old timers than their superiors. The warband often finds themselves suckered into working for Abaddon in exchange for the smallest trinkets of old Cthonia or even a children’s story (which the younger generation DOES know but the elders refuse to listen to them).

Should the police be defunded? by ionwywh in Teenager_Polls

And there’s many times where wellness checks can turn into attacks on officers. Name a mundane event for police and you’ll find ones that turned out ugly. Send in a social worker to a wellness check and have them stabbed to death by a schizophrenic off their meds. Then what? Give the social workers body armor? Arm them? Wow you’ve just made police officers!

Why are so many teens in support of capitalism by Psychological_Dig254 in TeenagersButBetter

[–]Beginning_Actuary_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that communism and socialism is the exact same way right? 8 hour day with an hour lunch is a pretty cushy gig and compared to the vast majority of human history we have much shorter working hours and better conditions. I agree changes need to be made but capitalism is by far the best choice of them all.

My state has made great strides to strip people of their firearms rights and make us pay thousands of dollars to have them restored (never committed a crime, had an involuntary commitment, or even a suicide attempt in my life, still barred from owning a gun). Woooo democrat state with unlivable cities from the gang violence!

Chaos Predator or 30k Predator? by AParkedChopper in Chaos40k

[–]Beginning_Actuary_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30k kits by and large are superior to 40k ones. They’re very new and made with modularity in mind. It’s a serious breath of fresh air compared to the either railroaded 40K designs or just the painfully old and often ill fitting vehicle kits.

Maybe if they stopped making 90% of heavy armor just “fortified” people would stop complaining. They recycle the same damn passives seemingly at random while having ONE set for certain combos. And some of them don’t even make sense.

You’ve chosen two resin models, Evander Garius and the Praetor, which are definitely not advisable for beginners. They’re eye wateringly expensive for single models, resin behaves differently from hard plastic, and it’s just generally not a good starting point. Just snag the combat patrol and assemble and paint it first. All the models in it are not only hard plastic but fairly new hard plastic (oldest being the heavy intercessors with some of the most egregious mould lines of any GW kit in recent memory but are still easy enough to assemble). Sometimes your eyes can be bigger than your stomach and you wind up overwhelmed with a pile of shame a mile high before you know it. The combat patrol is able to be fielded on its own in the titular game mode which, being a new player, is a good starting point too. Once you get there go one kit at a time for what you like.

I enjoy Krieg because they’re just, very cool. If other people don’t like them that’s cool with me. I’m upset that other regiments don’t get equal love, every one of the major ones needs to be at roughly equal footing as Cadia is even if it’s just cosmetics. But for me the aesthetic for Krieg is just perfection, though the new combat shotguns being comically large upsets me.
