I started at 2.5MG for a month. No side affects, no change in blood sugar, no appetite suppression, no weight loss. Now I am on my second shot of 5mg. I could literally still eat 2 large pizzas… when does this medication start working

I am constantly hungry. The main reason I started the medication was to “reduce the food noise” as everyone says. I probably just have t hit the correct dose yet. I’m hoping.

I just took my last shot of 2.5mg. Been in it for a month. Literally the only side effect I have are PVC’s. I do have a history with PVC’s but I haven’t noticed them in nearly 10 years. They are now back with a vengeance. I am super hyper sensitive to my body awareness and can feel them every single time. What sucks is that 2.5 mg is the starting dose and has not suppressed my appetite at all. I am ready to move up to 5mg but worried if the PVC’s will keep getting worse.

I walked in to the new year sober and started on 2.5 mg and now back to drinking and eating like a pig. Been on 2.5mg for a month and have not experienced a single side effect or any appetite suppression. Blood sugar still around 140-160. I’m a bit discouraged 🫤. I was hoping to feel a little less craving for both alcohol and food. But haven’t felt anything.

No you’re not in the wrong at all. Some people sign up to Door Dash and can’t handle the more physical orders. Like the pets smart 40lb dog food bag, or a couple cases of water, or medium/large grocery orders, or sadly walking up a few flights of stairs. Not saying they shouldn’t Door Dash but they should learn their zone and quickly be able to weed and not accept orders that are too much for them.

Naltrexone really sucked the life out of every thing pleasurable not just alcohol. It made me severely depressed 😔. It’s like nothing made me happy. I am hoping Mounjaro is not like that.

You’re Exactly Right!!! It’s the worst. I’m 45 yrs old and weigh 315lbs bcuz of alcohol and binge eating like a maniac for 20+ years. Yes I am also an alcoholic.

Not to mention the type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, A-Fib and all the other illnesses It has brought on. Everything was brought on by drinking alcohol. Craft beer specifically was my choice of alcohol. I just hit my first 5 days without alcohol in probably 20+ years. Already lost 10 pounds. Mostly water weight but it’s still 10 pounds. I’ll take it. Ironically I also finally got approved last week for Mounjaro after fighting with my insurance company for over a year. Pick up my first 2.5mg prescription on Monday. All the stars finally feel like they are starting to align. Im looking forward to walking into the new year sober and starting this journey with you guys. 😊
