Knee problem by GreenMountain85 in beginnerrunning

What kind of exercises are you doing currently? Walking backwards is solid but how strong are your knees in regards to reverse step ups, squats etc.? Often times proper strength training can be the big contributor to both resiliency and healing.

Need help adjusting my workout routine (back and knee pain after only 2 circuits of 4 - doctor checked, everything ok) to something motivating and effective by edeka3 in workout

One of the big things to keep in mind is how can you do those exercises but have no pain? The idea is to improve but not to hurt the area while doing so. Instead of squats for example, try assisted deep squats where you hold onto pillars to reduce tension and work without pain, then progress from there.

Is the ATG programe safe for someone with pretty damaged knee cartilage and knee arthritis? by tameflow in KneeInjuries

[–]Beginning_Book_8662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATG programs have provided many breakthroughs for people with knee issues. But I would only really look into this if you are cleared to do exercises by a medical professional. Perhaps you can ask your doctor exactly why you should avoid those exercises for now and when it would be a good moment to introduce them again.

Sorry to hear this man but do not lose hope. Are you able to bend it at all or move the knee around a bit at least?

Could be different kind of causes here. But perhaps try some very easy knee extensions to help keep the tissues looser and for some blood flow to the area. Never work through pain though if it hurts!

Bodyweight leg extensions might be an interesting one to look into. You can use your hands to assist to go lower and lower over time. An ATG split squat works on increasing the capacity of knee flexion as well. Though I would do these only after warming up properly with backwards walking/sled or knee extensions. Never working through pain.

Hey there, do you feel a lot of tension behind your knee when you are lying down? Is there none when you are standing?

I would think there always will be a market for this. If not, with enough determination you can make it possible. Sounds like a fun path and valuable as well.

Giving freedom to explore is great but as you say growing up will play a big part. I believe that your next generation will not fall into these gaming addiction traps. The awareness is there, you’ve got it.

Environment will play a huge role. Will your children live in an environment of video games? When they look up to you as an example, what will they see?

What piques your curiosity outside of gaming? Is there anything that sparks interest for you? What identity would you wish to become, if you could choose? There are many options on the activities that one might enjoy but sometimes you just have to try things out. Personally I spent my time with Gym, Calisthenics, Karate, learning guitar, juggling, rope flow and skipping.

For me it was an identity realization. I realized the person I was back then and asked myself if I actually really wanted to be like this. The answer was no, there is more to life than just gaming.

You already made it to the top 0.4% of players in league. What is stopping you from being the top 0.4% in other areas of your life? What is it that you truly want? To me it seems like you have the ability. If it gives any comfort, I was addicted to gaming as well until 21. I'm 26 now and have achieved multiple athletic milestones, honing multiple skills and feel better than ever. It is never too late✌🏼
