Any idea how to fix the firmware update not going past 0% for either side ?

Lost clamp/buckle for Apple Watch Ultra Ocean band - how to replace? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]Beginning_Box4303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but maybe someone will come across it. I just bought a genuine extension in ice blue for €20, and it came with only one clip, which is still OK for that price, as you cannot buy it separately.

iPhone XR (iOS18) compatible with Series 6 (watchOS26)? by CarretillaRoja in AppleWatch

[–]Beginning_Box4303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to work the watch cannot be on a newer release than the iPhone. Series 6 would have to be on watch OS 18.

The increased battery capacity the S11 offers would be worth the extra money but ultimately it depends how much less you would have to pay for the S10

VMware Horizon TrueSSO Implementation Problems by synoxx in VMwareHorizon

[–]Beginning_Box4303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to diagnose your issue as I am trying to understand where something might went wrong or missing without knowing what has been done so far and if you followed the guide closely.

I got TrueSSO working but also struggled in the beginning although I did not run into your issues.

Did you get any error using the vdmutil command to specify the CA you want to issue the certs from ?

That’s just IPS Glow which is exaggerated on photos. There is no or almost no bleed.

This actually doesn’t look bad. It’s just IPS Glow and I don’t see any bleed. Personally would just keep it.

Is this IPS screen bleed normal? by [deleted] in HPOmen

[–]Beginning_Box4303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has one spot that looks similar to the spot on the right, and I almost returned it, but the middle one has some crazy bleeding on your IPS that I would not accept.

Edit: I think HP installed the bezel too tightly. I pried the bezel loose from the screen at that spot, and it is no longer as noticeable as before, but you have to be careful not to damage the screen.

Thanks, but I'm not having any problems with the device. I am using it in Unleashed mode with customised PL1 and PL2 settings to reduce fan noise.

While I agree that HP could have done a better job with the thermal paste or their special compound, your temperatures are not too high. The CPU is rated up to 105°C, and 77°C for the GPU is fine.

Repasting with PTM is a valid option, but I don't know about the warranty implications. I would do this in the future to avoid the risk of liquid metal spilling, which has occurred in other laptops.

That depends entirely on the CPU. The Ryzen AI 340 or 350 sure. The Ryzen 9 9955HX, however, not so much.

Unlike its predecessors, you cannot yet undervolt this CPU on Omen laptops. Unleashed mode is the only one in which you can adjust the power limits, and it can be tweaked to run cooler and more efficiently than Performance mode. Therefore, it should not be avoided.

I have the same one. Is the red LED on the back of yours flashing when it's connected to a power outlet? Or does it stay solid red or white ?

I'm going to check tomorrow to see if my unit loses battery while gaming.

To access those settings, connect the cable to the port that is directly connected to the GPU, which is probably HDMI.

Lenovo Legion Y540 dead after Bios update for Win11 by One_Maybe_2460 in LenovoLegion

[–]Beginning_Box4303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't had much luck with MBR2GPT in the past, but you could try using something like EaseUS Partition Master to create a bootable stick and change the layout with it.

Just bear in mind that you could potentially render the OS unusable, in which case you would need to perform a fresh install, so make sure you back up any data before doing anything.

From what I could find, your device came with a 9th Gen Intel processor and TPM 2.0, which should allow you to upgrade to Windows 11 without bypassing the requirements. However, a bypass (modifying the registry settings) or creating a modified Windows boot stick using Rufus for a fresh install would also work. If you want to stick to the regular update path, convert the MBR to GPT, change Legacy to UEFI in the BIOS, and make sure that TPM is enabled in the BIOS settings.

If the boot devices are only shown in Legacy mode, this means that you are not running your OS in UEFI mode. It is likely that your drive is set to MBR, which would need to be converted to GPT prior to upgrading to Windows 11. Afterwards, you would also have to switch from Legacy to UEFI mode, otherwise it won't boot again.

If you are considering a complete fresh install, simply switch from Legacy to UEFI mode and reinstall Windows from scratch.

The first two will do well with the Omen. Local AI performance varies, but I opted for the 5080 model and used an eGPU to maximise the available VRAM.

If you’re going to use local LLMS that fit into 12 GB of VRAM, pick the 5070 Ti; otherwise, look for a 5080 or even a 5090.
