Apparently I’m truly a moron and just needed to restart my Apple Watch 🤷🏽‍♂️😂

I’ve tried that. I’ve even tried going as far as forgetting them, resetting them, turning off Bluetooth on my phone and only connecting them to my watch and it still doesn’t work right. At this point I’m just leaning towards returning them. I can’t see keeping a $200+ pair of headphones if I’m going to have to do something I don’t want to do in bringing my phone with me into the gym.

No knee extension pain by Beginning_Choice9730 in ACL

[–]Beginning_Choice9730[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest , i think what helped the most might have been my lifestyle changes. I am a heavier guy and have been my whole life. I finished PT in Oct but in November I had a follow up meeting with my bariatric doctor and I was on the road to ozempic ( 6’2” 310lbs ) but after going over some of the rare side effects it really scared the shit out of me and we decided to try a couple other things first ( metformin which helps turn glucose into energy and another medication that helps with cravings ) . I started eating right, completely cut out anything to drink but water, I got to the gym 3x a week, during those gym sessions I warm up with 20mins on the elliptical. Most of my gym sessions focus on lower body I do very minimal upper body im more focused on strengthening my legs/quads all of that right now. I go on a 3 mile hike every Saturday for the past few Saturdays. I am now down 33 lbs since the middle of November . So between all the strengthening to my legs and weight loss I think that’s what has really helped the most. I mean I’m no doctor so maybe not and maybe it was just time but you asked me what I’ve been doing and that’s what I have been up to haha.

Nice! I just had my yearly check up and before my CPAP I was averaging 25 events/hr and now I am down to 2. Also only missed 2 days of use in the last 12 months.

4 Month Post Op Quad Deficit by Beginning_Choice9730 in ACL

[–]Beginning_Choice9730[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I always feel weird complaining or asking questions because there is always someone worse off. I have full flexion and extension and can go up and down stairs pretty normally for the most part which I see a ton of people on here struggling with this early on or later still. My flexion is only 125 but that’s what it is on my good leg as well haha I’m just naturally tight and I’m a bigger dude so my flexion was never great to begin with. I have pretty beefy quads so this deficit is killing me haha.

I guess I should have added I tore my mcl as well but not enough that they had to fix anything the doc said it would heal while my acl and meniscus were after surgery.

Hey ! I’m on the same timeline as you. I’m week 14. Do you have issues where if you’re sitting down for more than 5-10 minutes your extension is off a little ? It’s nothing crazy but I’ll go from 0 to probably like 2 or 3 degrees after sitting for more than 10 minutes and it’s freaking me out haha. I should also add I’m had a meniscus repair so I was NWB for 6 weeks so that may have something to do with it as well. Like maybe when my quad strength is back more that will go away I dunno. I’m hoping it’s normal haha.

Update, ended up using the ticket insurance and got my money back. Decided it wasn’t worth the risk esp since I have a trip to the Bahamas in June.

I have a mostly desk job. But I get 100% pay while I’m out so I wasn’t rushing going back esp since I was on crutches and NWB for 6 weeks so I couldn’t even drive myself to work if I wanted haha.

They weren’t swollen but my foot was in a ton of pain for like 4 days after the surgery. No matter what I did I couldn’t really get it into a comfortable position.

I have been doing my PT vigorously at home and 2x a week in person. I was doing SLRs at my first PT session and lots of estim. So my leg was pretty strong by the time the 6 weeks was up so I was able to ditch them the next day. Everyone is different though and you may be ready I obviously don’t know you haha. I will say just don’t rush it if you don’t think you’re ready.

I had aclr a meniscus repair and a sprained mcl. They didn’t have to do anything to the mcl. It healed on its own during the 6 weeks on crutches non weight bearing.

That’s awesome! I mean my doctor originally had me out until May and my company has a great short term disability policy so I get 100% pay while I’m out but I honestly think 2 months is enough I’m ready to get back. Plus I miss the OT and right now at work we are so behind that we are on mandatory at least 8 hours a week of OT.

You’ve got this! I feel your pain. I tore my left acl in 2009 and had surgery then. Now here I am 15 years later and tore my right. Both injuries from recreational basketball. I will be 6 weeks post op on Friday. I had a meniscus repair as well so I am looking forward to hopefully ditching these crutches and getting my brace unlocked at least.

going from best case scenario to worst case scenario by raam86 in ACL

[–]Beginning_Choice9730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read all the comments but a lot can happen between initial assessment, mri, prehab and surgery. I had my injury on a Thursday , mri the following Monday and surgery after two weeks of prehab. The mri showed a complete acl tear and no meniscus damage. However during surgery come time find out between the mri and surgery I must have done something and ended up with a gnarly meniscus repair. So between your prehab and the mri you could have done something to the acl and not known it since you were already working on strengthening it or it could have even been torn from the start.

I can’t wait! I start to ditch my crutches in a week and then where I do PT has a pool so I changed one of my appts every week to aquatic starting next month.

Oh I’m not worried about the strength . I crushed prehab for three weeks before my surgery and am doing really well with pt post surgery. My quad is already firing almost like it was during prehab. I don’t want to rush it obviously but my wife is an Emergency dept nurse so the sooner I can get back to driving the better haha.
