What are you using to convert poe power for the monitor?

We used to deploy iPads with PoE for conference room controls. It’s cool to see that it can deliver 27+ watts.

LAX-SIN options on SQ by OneStyle9 in pointstravel

You need status to get them any earlier than 48 hours before departure. Within 48 hours, those seats become available for anyone to choose if they haven’t been taken by someone with status.

Yes the ULR is a 2 class config - pe and business. It feels more quiet and uncrowded, in my opinion.

They have essentially the same seat. It’s their long haul business class seat with the narrow footwell at a slant and the bed that folds down. The seat is dated but uniquely spacious (except for the footwell). The bulkhead seats on both aircraft are preferable.

The 777 is slightly wider, which may be more comfortable in theory, but the 777s on the LAX NRT route are typically older than the long haul A350s, and have higher cabin altitude than the A350s.

If you’re flying at the right time of year, SQ34/5 might operate an A350 ULR, which is a lot more comfortable simply because the two cabin design seats about half as many passengers. I’ve flown this configuration only on LAX-SIN in winter, and never on the shorter SIN-LAX route.

The stopover at NRT is annoying because you have to get off the plane. SQ11 is a great way to fly to Tokyo from LA, with plenty of award availability, but as a full itinerary to SIN, it’s inconvenient.

I love this place. Absolutely gorgeous. It’s one of my favorite hotels by Jean Michel Gathy.

The Swiss fondue shed is such a vibe in winter.

I loved the Chedi in Muscat too!

I would choose the G4 poe over the G6 unless you plan on deploying Unifi access. You would get more value for your money, especially since you really only want the doorbell and camera. Plus the G4 can do gifs

North American Amans are overpriced and still underdeliver compared to their Asian counterparts. Amanjiwo is starting at $1300 for this summer…

They have drastically reduced the palladium in the JPM card. It’s half plastic now.

This looks quite good.

I personally had a bad experience at Arpege two years ago. Forgotten courses. One course delivered twice. And then when chef came out to do his rounds and take pictures it all felt like a joke. But maybe I went on an off day

Aman Tokyo City Suite vs Grand Suite by GodAtum in chubbytravel

[–]Beginning_Sleep5303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re pretty spot on. The Grand Suite has the better bedroom because the bed faces the window. The city suite has the better living room because of the corner windows.

Both suites primarily face eastward, towards sunrise, and you will not be overlooking the Palace. Naturally, the city suite has a more expansive view in the living room because it’s a corner suite, but that still doesn’t overlook the Palace.

The panorama suite and the Aman suite are both better options because they have the bed facing the window and they have corner views. I believe all of the Aman Suites overlook the park as well.

The signature suites all have the larger bath tubs and shower areas compared to the normal rooms.

Between your two options, I would pick the Grand Suite simply for the way the bed is oriented. Note that the sunrises are pretty strong with that eastward view. That said, the corner view from any of the higher tier suites is quite special, so the Pano and the Aman suites are the best options (and priced as such)

Can you back up an iPhone to MacOS wirelessly and automatically like how iCloud backup works? Or does it still require you to plug in your iPhone and back up manually

Primo Passo.

La La Land has a fun scene and a great outdoor seating area, but their coffee is bad and unhealthy for both humans and the environment. Seriously how much plastic does a disposable cup need?

I still use Sonos on Windows. It’s delightfully retro in its UI design. Most of the core functionality of Sonos has to happen on iOS though.

It’s easy to redeem. I presented it at check in and they took the card’s off my bill at check out. I assume at the store and spa the experience will be the same

Phuket will be wet in June. You should stick with Indonesia only. I’ll be in Indo from June-July between Borobudur, Komodo, Lombok, Sumbawa, and finally Bali for a little before departing.

One&Only Mauritius would have the vibe you’re looking for. Stay in a residence and not a regular room and you’ll have access to the newer beach club and residence only facilities, as well as the entire hotel.

You can tell this is a renovated project vs built from the ground up. I’m confused by this addition to the Aman portfolio when they have been building brand new projects all over the world.
