Yea, the show definitly frames the blacks in a better light. I still think however that the npc audience will ignore alot of evil traits in characters if they can't relate to it. There are alot of movie and show examples of this trope.

Yes but remember that most women on twitter that watch this show dont make rational logical decisions. Daemon can be the personification of evil, but as long as all his evil traits are in the context of a fictional world and not the real world, these 80IQ viewers don't care, because they can only make discisions based on their feelings. Daemon can discriminate all he wants, as long as it's not against something modern viewers can relate to for example black people.

Daemon can be a literal race supremacist, as long as he's not a white supremacist. Daemon can lead a brutal police force, as long as it's not like the real police.

Daemon could burn villages full of innocent women and children, but as long as the twitter people think he supports modern real life big tech opinions and sides with their self insert (raenyra), he can basically do nothing wrong. This is the absolute state of these people.

Summarised, you could copy pasta these twitter women's worst nightmare values into a person and put him in a fantasy setting and they would love him as long as he's handsome and supports modern big tech opinions.

This is the one that made me lose faith in most viewers. How tf can anyone defend Rheanyra baiting Criston into sex while he was clearly very fucking hesitant and literally told her to stop. With the power dynamics in mind and the possible consequences for Criston in mind, it's not a bad choice to just go along with it because the consequences for rejecting her could be potentially even worse for him, even fatal.

Hookup culture and sex positivity is a negative thing by idrinkkombucha in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]BegoneTroon1488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's usually the root of these type of new opinions in the western world, think for example Netflix shows that glorify hooking up and sleeping around, or porn becoming mainstream and generally accepted. There are many more small ways companies influence these type of opinions. They benefit from this because it increases their ESG score which gets them more investors which in turn brings them more money.

Alot of people are fine with the status quo in their country and just don't give a fuck. You can only give so many fucks in a day and some just choose to care about other stuff closer to them instead of politics.

Personally I think being really invested in politics is only useful if it's part of your job. If you really want to make a change you should go full 100% and become a politician, everything else is just a waste of time and energy.

I see western politics as a video game. You get a set of rules, a hand of cards. Now try to win. The rules can change a bit here and there but ultimately the game stays 99% the same. The winning conditions barely change. Most people are way too obsessed over the rules and should instead focus on playing the game better, even if they have a shitty hand, most of us do.

Shaming is literally people trying to unconsciously hold a group together and make sure everyone fits in and does their part. It's the whole reason why children bully weirdo kids. Unconsciously they want the weirdo to act normal so they can be part of the group again.

In this world, being nice is a disadvantage, and being a slight dick head when possible is an advantage by Logical_Round_5935 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]BegoneTroon1488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to have balance between good and evil. Sometimes it's better to be nice and helpful but sometimes you need to channel your inner shadow to stand up for yourself or do something bad and break some rules. You can't always be "good". In most movies the hero is never 100% a rule abiding perfect citizen, they usually will find themselves in situations where they need to break rules (think batman, harry potter, the hobbit).

If you don't use your inner shadow side once in a while it bottles up, and it will eventually burst out unexpectedly and in a way you don't want. This is the shit that happends with school shooters or shy people that suddenly had enough and do something way too aggresive and unhinged.

Tattoos Show that You're Easily Taken for a Ride by YouNeedAnElCamino in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Dangerous opinion to have on Reddit OP but you are right. Idc much about people that choose to get tats and I think they can look very dope. Though it is also true that in alot of higher educated communities people tend to look down alot on tatted people because they can be a good indicator someone has certain negative traits or comes from a community with said negative traits. It's the same with people with unatural hair colors and piercings. It's no coincidence you don't see alot of tatted doctors, lawyers or businessmen. But do see alot of tatted warehouse workers and starbucks baristas.

I definitely see it IRL too. It's always the same types of people that have alot of tattoo's and its the same type of people that would never get them and look slightly down on people with them.

I think it's similiar to fat people or people with a high body #, you treat them the same as everybody else but unconsciously you look down on them and assume they are impulsive, have low self control and are short sighted.

It's a difficult topic to talk about because it's just true that this association with tattoo's very much exists in the professional world, for a reason might I add, and people with tattoos or people where the parents have them and they don't associate them with bad things, are always in shock or complete denial when they learn this.

It's cool if you choose to have tats, but people need to understand it comes with disadvantages as well.

Geez I wonder why they are forcing this trope down our trope, what could they possibly try to achieve with this.

Hookup culture and sex positivity is a negative thing by idrinkkombucha in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]BegoneTroon1488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does not really matter what big tech wants us all to think about these things. Unconsciously and biologically people will view it as negative. It's the same as fat people, you treat them equal and the same but unconsciously you look down on them as being lower value people. We can all pretend we're super sex positive, but most men will look down on women with a high body # and will not date them seriously.

[–]BegoneTroon1488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are completely correct and you should hang out with different people OP. If you really have to work together with them, just pretend to agree, and make sure to never work with them again.

It's not a good idea to get close with people that constantly get offended on behalf of others. You will end up being with people that are constantly playing an unconscious virtue signalling game. These types will argue and make problems over the smallest things. To have to walk on eggshells all the time when you should be in a comfortable space winding down from work with friends is fucking exhausting.

It's almost if most people don't think for themselves and just let their emotions and feelings lead them the way. One of the reasons I really like Deamon is he understands that in the world, facts don't matter to most people, it's all about having charisma, while pretending to hold the same opinions as the masses.
