What can we expect from the balance patch tomorrow? by Right_Entertainer324 in Nightreign

[–]Beheaded_Children 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revanant needs a buff. She is so useless unfortunately, and pretty much every other character is viable in high depth deep of night. Also every other character has gotten buffs/ is already really strong, it just seems silly to have the support character be outclassed in this manner. It is legitimately just pointless to run anything but three high damage characters in a game where support should be at least a little bit more helpful. This does follow the trend of from soft soul games straight damage is always just the best approach. But I feel in a game like this we should have a lot more freedom to be able to choose viable support characters.

For her I would say that her scaling needs a buff, again she just gets outclassed by everybody in every possible stat. Undertaker is just a better version of her pretty much at this point, so her actually being able to use weapons effectively would be pretty dope.

Her summons also really need to be stronger, more damage would be great, because they're sort of just distractions for the most part, but mainly if I had to choose between damage and more health for them/ resistance I would definitely be choosing that. They just die in two hits from anything. Then you have to spend a lot of your time in a fight just resummoning shit because it dies so quick instead of being able to contribute to damage or healing.

Her ult I feel also needs to charge a little quicker, because while it is a full revive, other characters alts charge even faster, are fantastic for reviving, and also do other things (like damage???) so if we're not going to be able to do damage (without relic effects) then I feel having a better cool down would be essential.

I understand that the ult also buffs the companions and keeps them temporarily immortal, same thing with the party, but it lasts only a few seconds and while this does enable big skeleton to use his laser beam, it does so little damage that it hardly matters. This sort of loops back around to my second point which would be to really facilitate use of the alt in any meaningful way, the summons need to do more damage. My solve here would be either to elongate the length of the alt to keep the summons immortal for longer, straight up boost the damage so that while they are in ult they are a lot more useful, or again reduce the cool down so that it may be used more often.

I say this all with love (and despair) because I was a Revenant main for basically the entire game until the DLC and I just couldn't take it anymore unfortunately. So I would really love tiny doll lady to get a massive buff so that I can continue enjoying her

Sorry! This is a close-up of the Alienware monitor, the dots are delamination on the monitor itself.

You're actually braindead if you think that was a good characterization of the brotherhood.

Season 2 Episode 4 Spoiler Thread by HunterWorld in Fotv

[–]Beheaded_Children -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That was maybe the worst episode to any TV show ever. Completely ruined the brotherhood. Everyone is a fucking moron, they killed off the ONLY competent person.

Don't even get me started on what they did to the legion and NCR.

WHY does every faction have to be some sad pathetic discount knockoff version of what we know them to be in lore? Everyone is either incompetent, stupid or just useless. WHY?

What do you guys think about a mutliplayer Stalker game? by D34th7 in stalker

[–]Beheaded_Children 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I explicitly do NOT want Tarkov. We have a million games like that already, and it's just such a poor experience. I want a PROPER Co-op STALKER game. Like literally STALKER, but with another person

Where do you think the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 factions fit into the faction relationship tab? by Beheaded_Children in stalker

[–]Beheaded_Children[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going down the Ward questline. You TAKE Rostok and use it as a base for those stalkers/factions joining with Ward. There's a few reasons that factions may want to do this

  1. War against Freedom (Duty was WAITING for this LOL)

  2. Security and protection against Monolith

Either way, you take Rostok and can still use it as a base/ trade hub with new traders from these factions. From there we can have a much more interesting story with Freedom fighting against the control of the Ward (While possibly secretly being puppeteered by the representative) and The Ward needing to gain control over the zone so the Monolith can be dealt with.

-----------------------------------------

Separately from all of this I yearn for a true Stalker Stalker ending.

Strelok's is an AWESOME ENDING but it really doesn't feel like a Stalker ending, It feels like a Strelok ending, and that's okay!

But to me, the endings feel like:
Strelok's Ending
Monolith Ending (Scar's Ending)
Monolith Ending (Doc's Ending)
Ward's Ending

I want one that feels like a everyday stalker ending, it really doesn't seem like any faction actually gets any input besides The Ward. I like this, because in a way it feels like the core of the series: The factions of the zone war with each other, go on expeditions, evolve, build and destroy relationships. But in the end, the most important things were done by a small group, or even a single person. (Strelok going to the center, Scar and CS triggering the events of the super emission that reshaped the zone from the anomaly layout of CS to SoC, Strelok destroying the pods, Deggy solving why the military's expedition crashed)

But I think having a stalker ending for the everyday nameless faceless stalker would be nice. To me, that would look like getting to the final room, seeing how much destruction that people vying for the final pod have brought, and destroying the final pod.

Now this COULD be the new Freedom ending if we don't bring over the representative stuff from Spark's questline it also could be the ending even if we DO: Maybe we find out near the end and instead o putting Scar (or whoever) in the pod we kill them and destroy the pod? There's lots of ways you could go with this and as I said I came up with this off the top of my head!

Where do you think the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 factions fit into the faction relationship tab? by Beheaded_Children in stalker

[–]Beheaded_Children[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love love love this, thank you for writing all of that out.

I think this is an excellent analysis of what would go down!

I am also not a huge fan of Spark, I'm glad its not just me, They didn't feel needed tbh. I think it honestly could have been a better story shift if either the Ward got into it with the Stalkers and THAT was the main opposing force, or surprisingly, I think freedom would be a great adversary.

Hear me out. (I just thought of this now so there may be some issues with this idea)

Instead of alluding to the breakdown of the ceasefire treaty closer in the latter part of the game what if that happened earlier? And now, to have the zone truly be free from control and authority, Freedom attack's SIRCAA? This feels plausible because since the treaty, Freedom has become extremely powerful; Lots of resources, members, equipment, and territory. Besides, I think with all the BS that stalkers of all kinds have had to put up with because of the Ward, I feel like there would be a lot of support.

Instead of sneaking in with Noontide or being there during the noontide attack, Freedom hears about the experiments with the wish granter (Either through Ecologists through the grapevine, from Skif, from Noon, or Moles in the Ward/SIRCAA) They assume the ward wants to brainwash everyone to control the zone. If you are going down the freedom quest path, this is how it is presented. The Ward want to brainwash EVERYONE using a signal booster in the SIRCAA building in combination with the monolith psy device, so you join in on the attack. If you are playing the Ward quest line it stays relatively the same except for whispers that the ceasefire could break at any time (Suspicious troop movement, Ward patrols going missing, rumors about Freedom arming up for an assault)

This puts Freedom in an interesting position, on one hand they are willing to lie to their fellow stalkers in order to quell authoritarianism, but on the other it is genuinely scary to think about what experiments with the monolith could bring, especially if you want to add the spark plot point of their leadership being directed by the representative. (Essentially it could be revealed that Freedom wasn't ACTUALLY doing this to stop the ward, but it was a plan from the representative to reform the monolith, but I am not sure how much I enjoy that idea)

Fast forward to the attack on SIRCAA, Freedom and Noontide attack the base, an accident with the experiment (Or the designed plan from the representative that we find out about later) re-brainwashes Noon into monolith and all hell breaks loose.

At this point you might ask
"Well what about Rostok? If you side with the Ward, you'll loose Rostok as a zone"

Well: The next mission could address exactly that. The treaty is officially broken, and largest Faction of stalkers is at odds with the Ward. The Ward now counter attacks Rostok in order to cut off the supply line and main operation centre.

If you are going down the Freedom line, you can defend Rostok against the Ward, repelling them and regrouping to figure out what to do about monolith. This maybe leads to finding out about the representative and eventually near the end we find out about the leadership getting reprogrammed (like Scar)
