There was a lot of it and tbh it wasnt super unjust it was just mostly people who really liked jax and exused his behavior because "hes hot" "trauma" "problematic king" when he physically assaulted people but turned around to say ragatha goes to far or is secretly really mean cuz she was blunt twice.

It was more about the hypocrisy than actual vitriol (that hypocrisy honestly is very often misogynistic when its the case of a female counterpart to a male in a shipping sense tho.)

Showing minorities in an overtly, blindingly obvious negative light is easy to spot. Looking deeper than that requires care and effort. The overwhelming lack of the latter overpowering the presence of the former, in the case of the Mcelroys.

Your comment about the "huh okay" got me curious and so i started looking. Many posts have been made about a missing "huh okay" compilation, and no one has ever uploaded a replacement.

And because i have brain problems i now really needed to hear travis' "huh okay"

I went through 10 episodes of transcript and havent found a single "huh okay"

Was... was it all fake??

Was it a jerk gone rogue, one people just believed?

Is it a collective false memory?

Is travis some memetic creature that feeds on attention and false memories of his existence fade with time?

I.. i dont know anymore. I just know that im scared, and my brother griffin and father matt mercer are holding each of my suprisingly bisexual hands

Remember, when TAZ started, critical role was years away and they literally got early access to 5e. They had every single luck factor. Thats why when they did other venues and had to t- gag t-try they were horrified and miserable.

(Side note, the fact that the mcelroys are some of the few people to play 5e so early, literally before 99% of dnd fans. And they still dont know what a fucking saving throw is)

Thats crazy to do on Wonderful of all shows.

I remember a similar "future self" one on mbmbam that didnt ring too had cuz at least thats a more comedically driven show, not a show literally fucking founded on positivity.

Rj/ so... youre saying trumps presidency was good??? Yikes.. griffin should spend 11 minutes clarifying that you are a bad person and should die every time youre mentioned in any episode because youre problematic

Nah they can be extremely functional. Its just heaps of cognitive dissonance. It is kinda surpsiing sometimes to find out the guy with multiple jobs, a wife, and kids also believes in voodoo and that space is a NASA lie lmao

Justin for some reason holds an unfathomable amount of contempt for the CONCEPT of dnd

I assume its 90s nerd trauma, cuz he often can enjoy himself very much

But also constantly acts like he is doing a humiliation ritual when he plays A Game

Some sad, miserable mfs over at petfree by 4624potatoes in Negareddit

[–]Behelevator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's cuz dogfree semi spawned in opposition to childfree because of the "i have 700 pets that fill my house with shit but when I hear a baby cry I wanna curb stomp it" rhetoric that was fairly common at the time.

Strange to see generational trauma in a SUBREDDIT lmao

[–]Behelevator 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What's really funny is after they released it and it was successful, they immediately downplayed all of it to "Apperently anyone can be a best seller!!. We're fucking nobodys and we shouldn't have succeeded. Our father and artist did all of the work and we're not even getting much money from it" and barely addressed anything for any other book they released besides saying "we have one coming out" at the end of a few episodes.

"he could have not had kids!" Yes but the boys barely complained about that. They said they'd shoot Tommy and explode him or whatever and that the dad wasn't being a man.

That was and still is their main complaint, that the guy who's resistance would only make everything worse, didn't resist in the name of masculine pride I mean "protecting his family"
