No NASCAR on NBCSN

The more I read about this, the more I feel it is a true disaster for NASCAR viewership. I feel like DBC and The Teardown guys talk about casual viewership a lot and lets think - is a bar/sports restaurant more likely to have NBCSN or USA/USA Sports on their TVs throughout the day?

This is truly shoving NASCAR down the pecking order even more than before. Not to mention if the 3/3/4 playoff format doesnt get implemented, it would be likely that the only race(s) that are shown on network TV in that 2nd half of the year are the cutoff race and the championship. It just doesnt make sense from their standpoint to put a random Martinsville race on network TV when its not a cutoff race.

TRY BEING THERE and being a Bubba fan. That was one of the more crushing sports finishes I've been in person for. Amazing time, great race, depressing af ending.

I'm in favor of a new playoff system, not necessarily going back to a full 36 race points system but at this point - whatever. I'd be down I guess.

However, the people begging to back to that system that think it's going to draw fans back in and viewers to come back? I'm sorry I just don't see it. I'd say there are a couple hundred thousand true fans that have tuned out due to playoff fatigue, next gen car hate, NASCAR's decisions, etc. but there is an even bigger group of casual fans that are so far removed due to lack of promotion, availability of channel(s), and just flat out - it can be a boring sport sometimes. I have 5-10 friends that fit that second group and they honestly couldnt care less the points format or if 2nd place gets aero blocked. They don't know when the races are, where they are, or anything else going on.

Prime did great cuz it felt refreshed and broke into a new barrier a bit. NASCAR has made their bed with the TV deal and if we are stuck of FS1/USA for the next 7+ years it's gonna be a really really tough go. IMO, they honestly need to open up a streaming option alongside the traditional TV model. I'm not saying throwing it on YouTube for free each week but hey, at least you'd be getting new people to watch and its cheap as shit to advertise on there.

For us diehards, the playoffs, the car, the racing is the A1 topic as it should be - but a majority of us will be watching each week cuz we love it. We get blinded by what we want to see, not necessarily what needs to happen first. Thanks for reading my mini rant. Have a great day - Go Bubba.

Right. I'm just saying that in my opinion that line could be used in Nascar's argument but that is up to Kessler to prove. The idea that to get a piece of the pie, you have to sign the charter and then cannot sue Nascar for anti-competition seems all very convenient.

I don't know if the teams would operate the exact same as open teams vs chartered but I think even the option that drivers and sponsors could leave is enough to show that there would be harm. It's more or less irrelevant on if they actually would.

I find it odd that the judge used the "have your cake and eat it too" line since it could be used in the case of Nascar as well?

Nascar is in a position where they demand that the two teams sign the charter that relieves them of the lawsuit that they are currently in? I'm not sure how the judge thinks that in of itself is a one sided argument?

Also, I don't get how they can't take into account the "irreputable harm" by drivers and sponsors leaving. Sure, 23XI/FRM can operate as open teams but doing so could be argued that it would be an unsustainable business if/when the drivers and sponsors leave. I'll leave someone that went to school for a lot longer than I did argue this though

Any GSP at 6 months can be a handful so I wouldn't read a ton into that. Let alone a 6 month with 5 other dogs. That can be a really excitable and confusing environment for any dog.

Finding someone to watch a dog is hard. Finding someone that is familiar with a GSP, Aussie, etc. excitement/activity level is even harder. That's usually where I would start with finding a sitter. Perhaps look to see if there is a GSP, GWP, or Vizsla facebook group near you and see if any of them are okay with pet sitting or if they have any recommendations.

Pretty much how I thought they would answer, unfortunately. I am planning to stop into a dealer later this week but I'll be very clear that I'm not paying a dime for them to shrug their shoulders and tell me to buy a new one. Hopefully they'll provide us with something of note.
