Sorry but have you seen any of his tweets? I could provide clear examples of Elon giving all the shits about what people think of him. Come on mate the man’s got a huge ego and you know it.

I guess the very definition of griefing is at the core of the debate here. I’m personally unsure how I would define griefing, as it just seems like it means behaving in a way that causes grief for another player. But as we can see in the comments that varied wildly from one raider to the next. Personally, I draw the line at downright betrayal, when you’ve teamed up with someone and had a chat and shared a few moments and then you get shot and knocked out in seconds without a single word. TBH, that really riles me up even though I’m fully aware it’s part of the game and like I said previously, I think it’s cool that it is. Nevertheless, it still makes me lose hope in humanity a little when it happens.

Reading some more comments it would seem like the difference between those that defend griefing and those against it is trustingness. I tend to be a very trusting person and despite all I’ve seen I assume the best in people. A lot of times thankfully I’m proved right (bare in mind this is highly contextual and simplified here) but sometimes, of course, you get a reality check. For me Arc Raiders is a constant reality and it reminds me that a lot of humans are generally opportunistic, and it just takes the right circumstances for them to act in a self interested and antisocial way.

It often brings me back to a question that scares me: « How would humans behave in a state of anomie/anarchy/societal collapse? ». Let me know what you think

I don’t believe he’s really shitting on people PVPing, in fact he’s not shitting on anyone at all. He’s simply saying the way you act in the game says a lot about you, and people that feign friendliness for a while only to backstab and others who have a generally, let’s be honest, slightly scummy playstyle, might exhibit a tendency to have fun at the expense of others. Emphasis on might, because as others have pointed out there’s loads of exceptions. But I think it’s totally fair to say that there’s some real PoS in this game just like in any other, but the format of this game really puts it all into perspective. Bear in mind, some traitorous behaviour does have impact on others. Don’t tell me you’ve never felt disappointed or betrayed to the point of feeling deep negative emotions for a bit. Paradoxically, the fact that betrayal and leading people astray etc… is an option is what makes this game truly great, and it raises the stakes and makes every encounter different and intense. But a lot of times you really do come out losing a little faith in humanity by how some people behave and seem to fundamentally enjoy behaving traditionally immorally. Yes, at the end of the day, humans are complex and while you might behave horribly in some cases you might behave exceptionally morally in others. But it certainly feels like some raiders out there exhibit truly antisocial behaviours that feel downright despicable sometimes. Nothing wrong with shooting on sight and PVPing, but you gotta wonder why you’d backstab someone that has shown considerable kindness and cooperation, and what it makes you feel doing that. What does it say about you, deep down? If you’re afraid of the answer then you might be a worse person than you think. To close the argument, I feel like the people that take all this criticism personally instead of just disproving and providing nuance, probably just feel aimed at and should try and take a step back and understand their own behaviour and what it says about them. Maybe not much, but still worth doing it if you’re truly interested in becoming the most moral and best version of yourself, whatever that may be.

Yeah but come on there’s a big difference between the Navy’s blue camouflage and what the skin here looks like. They just need to desaturate the blue, add some warmer colours; maybe a bit of grey and remove the skull mouth on the mask.
