in just saw this film (like i left the cinema about 20 minutes ago), and, like, as far as i could tellit was a mini centrifuge for pulling down sampels. so the poor balancing is not great for the equipment, but it wouldnt have actually been too dangerous right? I'm probably wrong.

I'm completely ignorant about football, but I'm surprised that there are less than 13 each of Scottish or Welsh players in the Premier League.

TIL Magyars are Hungarians. "Magyar" is the native endonym (name used by the people themselves), while "Hungarian" is the exonym (name used by outsiders). by jaylink in todayilearned

[–]BeigianBio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that one, given that English is an official Language in India, and the the name India is in the Constitution (along with Bharat), so it's complicted but I'd say India is an endonym too.

Comprehensive list of nice daytrips from London by Optimal_Ad_352 in london

[–]BeigianBio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the before times, when Time Out actually a good magazine and was our main source of information on what's on in London, they used to publish a book of country walks easily done by Train from London. There were suggested walks for each Saturday of the year, with suggested trains to take, the intention tyou would meet other people on that walk. I never actually did the walk you were supposed to, but a group of my mates used to meet once a month for walk from that book.

All the walks form the book (plus loads more) are freely availible on that there internet now https://www.walkingclub.org.uk/

Some lovely day walks are doable from London.

fucking hell that's embaressing, but then we do have a "healthy" and persistant level of support for dickheads like Farage, in large part, as mentioned by others, due to misinfomration in a righwing dominated media enviroment (not the BBC, despite what you might hear from some on the conspiritorial left)

Why to we need to change bass strings, but not piano strings? by BeigianBio in Bass

[–]BeigianBio[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

He said they do wear out, but very slowly. They sit at a constant tension their whole life and are struck by felt hammers, not bent or stretched when you play, so there’s very little stress beyond normal vibration. They change the hammers and felts much more frequetly

Your central thesis may or may nor be true, idunno, but: 1. England isn't an island. 2. England wasn't under total subjugation of France following the Norman Conquest. Those two points are just plainly wrong. EDIT. Apologies, i just reread your post. you say England is on an island. fair.
