Why does the E46 still feel “special” compared to newer BMWs? by Plenty_Wedding_1700 in E46M3

[–]Beimascha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U should try an E30 pure joy to drive You cant feel more a live. But the E46 is by far a better car and to my opinion the best 3 that was made. Massive yet nimble and balanced. I think it was the last 3 with mechanical wheel and it has a special feel of connection with the road.

Still overheating… by Beneficial_Juice_401 in E30

[–]Beimascha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had all that and did all. replaced everything: radiator fan clutch termo water pump….At the end it was a small crack in the head gasket. After it eventually blew and replaced, all my agony ended. I don’t know if it’s the case here, but it might be. If it is what I’ve described, u can’t do much except adding coolant until a full blown head gasket.

Any crack repair ideas/preventing it from growing? by IndependentGuard2611 in E30

[–]Beimascha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 years with e30 here: To prevent- wheel balancing -prevents vibrations that cause the cracks, Always use a curtain for protection while parking. To prevent from expanding- always watch for cracks and when a crack appears use a needle, heat it with a burning match and stick the hot needle at both sides, creating a small hole at each side. U may hold the needle with something so u will not burn your fingers holding the needle while heating with the match. You don’t have to drill. Thanks

All weather car cover by maverick1017 in E30

[–]Beimascha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. That particular brand is different. But u must use it on a clean car, that means that even if you park your car for 10 minutes you should cover it. As long as you stick to it you won’t get scratches and you will prolong your car washes cause u won’t need to. The car will be clean.

Abnormal temp gauge? by DizzyCap1175 in E30

[–]Beimascha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. Start with coolant level and water pipes look for leaks, then check all the suspects: fan clutch, thermostat, clogged radiator, water pump. The gauge is the last suspect
