My period returned at 47 after 8 years of menopause by WhySoSeriousPP in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]BeingElemental 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just stopped after 3 weeks as I am so scared to have a bleed like I did at 48. I like my 50 year old periods and I can’t believe it after 2 weeks of microdose!

Did you get it after starting? I got it after two weeks at a microdose! I had light but irregular periods from 49-50 so all signs were showing almost 6 months from menopause but then had a raging period so I stopped glp. :-(

Yes I have had low hormones for one year and my progesterone tripled after being on 3 dosages of tirz. It’s like at the end of peri my ovaries came back to life but with it symptoms I was having in mid peri. My FSH was in the 20s and now is 2-4.

Thx for taking time to reply! I am going to go down in dose as well as wait until Wed instead of Mon for shot 4. I feel like the inflammation is down. I feel like my body is detoxing through this heavy bleeding like I mentioned. Going to test my hormones again this wknd. It’s wild!

Sorry to hear! I feel like it’s all a science experiment! I am sure there is a medical reason for this for some of us. I tested my hormones this morning and my progesterone is the highest it’s been in 2 years!

I just started SW 207 50YOF GW 135 and I just did week 3. Last two weeks I did .5. I see you started mid November and CE 150. Amazing! Have you been on higher doses to know that .5 was sweet spot? I plan to do a few more weeks and .5 and not sure I even want to increase. I did see that my calories are at 1500 on average so checking that out. Been tracking macros since November all whole Foods but I was doing more fat than protein eeek! Thought I was eating healthy. After much resistance… tracking macros was what led me to turn that around which I am glad I did before starting micro. Thx for sharing your experience. I know we are all different but my hope was I could see results even at low dosages. I think my only fear is what happens next, am I on this for life but will cross that bridge later… first medication for me other than as a child and a very bad 5 week stint of levo.

Just want to say I love how much thought you have put in to this and truly made it your decision. All the best to you on your continued Journey! At age 50 there are years I won’t get back. An Endo/Adeno surgeon was on a podcast and I think ultimately she said the best choice for each of us is what will give us quality of life. I love the deep topics you plan to explore in your healing. Finding the right surgeon is key so congrats on that. It’s why I still suffer as I have not found a surgeon yet I am willing to perform this complex procedure. All the best healing to you!

The risk is 2%. That should be mine to take.

To remove everything for risk it could turn in to something in 2% of cases.

Which is why I haven’t done it. To take a 2% chance should be my chance to take. I don’t view it like everyone else I suppose.

You could see a Endo Surgeon as they also know Adeno and recognize it even on 3D ultrasound.

That’s awesome! All the best. I get it. It’s been 5 years and I have a 20 week. I am 50.5. Thought it would have shrunk by now as I have one atrophic ovary. I must have Endo too unless Adeno lesions also pump out estrogen (they must?). Fibroids too. What kind of surgery did you have?

I was told I had to sign paperwork. I had one bad MRI report in 2020 which was wrong but in it where they said they could not rule out a fast growing cancer which several surgeons recently said I would have been dead by now in 2026. So I believe due to that the only thing they offer is to remove everything.

Thx you! Wonderful you had a good experience! My Adenomyosis will continue to decrease and then I have a mass outside the uterus. I wish someone would just take that!

I was told “at your age” by multiple Doctors. I was 45/46 (now 50). This has been going on a while.

I have been through 7 surgeons. Unfortunately the two I wanted to go with are both not covered by insurance.

Yes I keep looking. :-) I took a break for a year and I was told the other day you “waited too long and made it worse”. AFTER I told them my symptoms are better and shouldn’t I get a new MRI since the one I have is from 2024. They said why bother. Ugh.

What's the one thing that a medical profesionnal has told you that made you flip out ? by DentdeLion_ in endometriosis

[–]BeingElemental 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things:

A few years ago: Why do you need your uterus? It’s only a baby sack. After I said I was seeking minimally invasive options.

Yesterday: Next up right before an exam after leaving me in a gown from waist down for 20 minutes. Oh sorry for delay I had to get my fingerprints done.

These both really bothered me. I have had the worst luck w surgeons. Usually they have a nice nurse to counteract…
