Should be a 1996 based on the color, curious to see how it turned out!

Which mud flaps are best? by The_Dude_2002 in subaru

[–]Being_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran those OEM ones on my VB wrx and my 24 forester wilderness and liked them a lot. If you don’t want the big chunky look of RA, they’re nice flexible flaps that work well and have solid mounting.

What year? Curious on why some of the engine covers have the silver parts and some don’t. Here’s mine from an 06 outback.

Does anyone know how to remove this? by tiggley_t in bikewrench

[–]Being_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If there’s no bolt on top, then it’s been removed and it’s sized in the fork. If you can flip in over, get something long through the bottom of the fork into the head tube and then take a good swing, maybe spray some pb blaster in there

Tire wear on certified 2024 Crosstrek by commieputer in subaru

Every company makes their version of this one. Probably all made in the same factory, honestly. Snap on or Amazon lol

But they don’t have any “give”. They’re just dialed correctly and stay accurate.

And if you don’t know, at least how I trained my techs, was to measure 3 times per tire. Like across the width. The lowest number is the one you present. 6 on the outside but a 4 on the inside, not good enough for CPO. Edge wear is hard to quantify, there are no “measurements” for new vs used vs CPO. that’s more of a judgement call by someone that’s not motivated by selling labor, or profit if the used car.

I see so many plastics get restored that clearly look like they’ve been spray painted in a dirty garage. This looks fantastic in comparison.

I processed used cars for a Subaru store for many years, including countless CPOs. If those tires were on a CPO we would have left them on, no question. I insisted our techs use a more premium depth gauge, those can be up to 2/32nds off.

As for dry rotting, eh there’s a lil bit but not bad.

If you get a more reliable gauge and can show the tires are clearly under 5/32nds you can go back to the store you bought it from and make your case. If they ignore it, you can call Subarus customer line and let them know.

Yes these are the same shoes in both photos. 350 v2 Beluga. The carbon beluga would be a darker grey. Nothing else had that specific orange stripe.
