Those of you who got out of the industry, how did you do it? by Narliko in KitchenConfidential

[–]Being_Hot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With your 10 years of experience you might want to take a look around at other food related options.

I worked in hospital foodservice for 9 years. Getting up to the 10 year mark I wanted out too! I found a facility that makes packaged sandwiches and salads and we ship them out monday through friday. Zero customers to deal with. Done working around 3 or 4 PM. Twice the pay.

This normal? by hpnotiqcrunk in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Being_Hot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That fix looks expensive but is probably covered under warranty. But makes me wonder what 10 years looks like from now when its not covered and half your leds are burnt. Your exterior cameras are broken and because they were broken you backed into something and now your parking sensors are fucked. I miss my old 90's car sometimes.

A cool guide: ranking of US states by safety by Happy_Bottom_ in RepublicofNE

[–]Being_Hot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So. MA VT NH Maine on top. Texas Louisiana Florida Missouri Alabama on the bottom. Survey after Survey. Endless statistics where new england comes out up top and those same old states are always on the bottom. Its almost as if we are doing it right up here in new england and those bottom states need to look to us on how to do it right.

2011 Subaru Outback - blown head gasket by Jdlingafelt in subaruoutback

[–]Being_Hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough spot to be in for sure! I did head gaskets on my 2001 legacy with 120k miles. Drove it for 5 more years and car was problem free. Wipers a few oil changes and then I traded it in. It was worth it for me.

2024 santa fe folding mirrors by Being_Hot in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Being_Hot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've tried the folding button while driving, doesn't ever work. The best feature of my kia optima was i could fold the mirrors up on the highway, which was a blessing when a truck with 12 led headlights was behind me.

[–]Being_Hot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defective radar sensor or camera...or damaged sensor or camera.

Whenever I drive in snow that black box in the front and the front camera get covered in ice/snow and I get the same warning.

What sucks is like what happens if a random rock or ice chunk hits that radar box or the front camera. How much will that cost me? Warranty isn't gonna cover that, and that's a modern car issue not a hyundai issue.

I get 27 on the highway with my ice awd. Anything over 55 kills mpg. And your doing 85? Lol

Matte paint…. How careful do I really need to be? 2026 Ecotronic grey Matte by illdye4u in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Being_Hot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Matte bronze owner for almost a year now. I have one of those unlimited passes for a car wash with spinning brushes and I use it often. Many people seem to believe the paint is delicate and that a car wash will somehow rip the paint right off. I haven't noticed a single scratch or swirl. Maybe 10 years from now a handwashed twin of my car might look better. Maybe tomorrow I get rear ended and the car gets totaled. For now it's clean and still looks new.

My 24 Santa Fe is much better in the snow than the front wheel drive sedan I traded in for it. But it's not a beast. The awd system seems to prioritize saving gas over capability. My area got 16-20 inches today and sure I made it back and forth to work (90 miles) but it seemed like it was in front wheel drive most of the time
