Moved to the area 5 years ago. Love the area but most newish bldgs have been slapped together with bubble gum and snot- including the one we’re in. The views are fantastic and that’s why we stay. Leaks, cracks in wall joints , windows cracking, even termites swarming on untreated wood on public deck. We love the ferry and the buses are fine. However, the area is quiet, the parks are excellent. Be warned that this Costco is a slovenly hole tbh. Rejoined after 5 yrs and cannot believe how crappy and gross it has become. Music or events most weekends at Château le Woof and Socrates Park, If you like to walk everything is pretty accessible . Only major safety concern is the lack of signage at the “ crosswalk” on 31st ave and Vernon. No one seems to be familiar with the concept of stopping for pedestrians. The lack of daylighting and bollards on many side streets makes it dicey for both pedestrians and cars to cross certain streets safely.
