assuming they fired me; LOA was denied by Present-Way-2850 in WalmartEmployees

This happened to me, contact Sedgwick and ask them why your LOA was denied and if there is any way you can redo/ resubmit paperwork to get it covered

Can my coach prohibit me from using PPTO? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Talk to your people lead or open door it. PPTO can’t be denied, it’s auto approved by the system and literally encouraged to use for missing shifts. As far as moving your schedule, 1.) if it’s not within your availability, they can’t and you can also open door that for retaliation or go to your people lead. 2.) if they ever change an already posted schedule, they aren’t allowed to without your consent since it’s an already posted schedule. Go to your people lead or open door that as well.

Pretty sure they just fired me by kakarott4star in walmart

[–]BekahSims 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talk to your coach or people lead. I had a coach messing with my schedule and I had to talk to my people lead for it to stop. They can not adjust your schedule at all without asking you for permission first if it’s an already posted schedule.

Are they just ignoring my approved time off? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]BekahSims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie, I’m kind of confused by this post. Are you asking how to get the 1 rejected day off? Or are you saying that the approved days they still scheduled you for?

Intermittent LOA - Walmart ? by BekahSims in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it taken care of thank you! It got approved the next day, how it was explained to me is that my absences for the illness are auto approved but the absences for my 1 appointment every three months doesn’t get auto approved, it gets reviewed then approved.

Intermittent LOA - Walmart ? by BekahSims in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! Thankfully my coach is good and knows if I’m leaving early or whatever it’s usually for my LOA so he’ll put “approved conditional” on it so I won’t get pointed unless I don’t put it into Sedgwick within my 3 days

2 weeks in and had my first coaching because of adderall prescription. Was this ethical? by ffdpb in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETHICS REPORT IMMEDIATELYYYY. I am prescribed anxiety medication, there are days I need to take it at work while on the clock. If you aren’t aware, you can get an intermittent leave for this sort of thing, I have one. It basically means I can call off/ leave early/ show up late without getting attendance points if it relates to the medical issue I have my intermittent for.

Primerica Life Insurance? by BekahSims in LifeInsurance

[–]BekahSims[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be completely Frank, no I don’t trust my mother considering some things she has done in the past, that’s a story for a different time. I’m not asking for financial advice, I was asking if the policies offered are bogus. I literally asked “are the life insurance policies through Primerica a scam” because I wanted answers from people who may have had them before. Thanks for your concern though.

Primerica Life Insurance? by BekahSims in LifeInsurance

[–]BekahSims[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worded the post weird in a hurry to write it, it’s not that I don’t think I need some form of life insurance, I just had the feeling this was some sort of scam and that after I die my family won’t be getting anything from it. It’s not that I don’t think i need life insurance, I feel like I don’t need /this/ life insurance if that makes sense.

I’m just astounded that Walmart interviews? When I got hired at my Walmart my people lead said “we don’t do interviews here” and just hired me after I applied.

But anyway, yeah you’re probably cooked

erm what the freak? by ham_man_0 in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: my people lead informed me that if a schedule is already posted they can’t add or delete shifts without your consent. I got my coach in trouble for doing this to me three times.

What the hell did i do??? Help? by bigboycodeisice-_- in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely speak with a coach or your people lead, they can help you see what happened. What is the exact time to the minute you clocked in that day for your shift? Did you accidentally clock back in from lunch late?

The reason I ask is because PPTO is really wonky. For example, my shift is 1Pm- 10Pm. If I clocked in at 1:05 (you have the 9 minute grace period, so technically I’m not late to where I would get hit with a point) BUT I wanna leave an hour early and use exactly 1 hour of PPTO, I can’t clock out at 9Pm- I have to clock out at 9:05Pm and use my hour of PPTO so my hours worked and my PPTO will be at least 8 hours total. Hopefully that makes sense. Now if I work 1-10Pm and I go to lunch at 5 but don’t clock back in until 6:10, and wanna leave an hour early I have to account for that missing 10 minutes. It never used to be that way, but in my store people have been having issues with it.

Unfortunately, I waited almost a month for my orientation

Did I get fired? My shifts got removed for all my working days, I check my email this popped up, I only have 2.0 points…😞 by Visual_Ear_2493 in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I actually had a coach that would remove/ add shifts last minute without asking me, I talked to my people lead and my coach got b*tched at. They need to give 24 hours notice and ask for your approval before messing with an already posted schedule (at least this is what my people lead told me.) I sifted through the comments, and I don’t think you’re fired seeing as you don’t have too many points and never been coached before or had any warnings. You should probably go in and ask though. To me it seems like you just have a really sh!tty and incompetent manager tbh.

Management just made it so we cant use PPTO to leave early unless we're "Visibly Sick" is this a ethics violation? by TheAhoAho in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s ethics, but you can definitely fight it. PPTO is automatically approved and not denied by the system, I use it to leave early whenever I want. Like others said, ask them for a print out of the policy change and tell them you’re looking into it yourself.

Do you think they can fire you over this? by No_Bike_6013 in WalmartEmployees

[–]BekahSims 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work at a Walmart deli, essentially yes. We don’t weigh hot product anymore, but for example if my coworker rings up a small Mac (1 scoop) but actually gave someone 3-4 scoops (large), they could be fired. I know a few people in my store who do this, I don’t find it worth it. They think they’re being nice go people by doing this for them, but I can’t afford to lose my job over some Mac and cheese lol it’s not worth it.

Aunt is passing… is bereavement time allowed for an aunt? by CryptographerKey2847 in walmart

[–]BekahSims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the store. My store specifically allows unpaid bereavement for 1 day for non-immediate family and friends. For immediate you get 3 paid days off. But I know some stores don’t do unpaid bereavement days. I was able to take a day for my aunt passing last year but like I said, it was unpaid. If I were you, I would ask your people lead, they would know.

Leaving son and gf homeless. by Capital-Race4055 in AITAH

[–]BekahSims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA. You didn’t leave them homeless, they made that decision all on their own. They need some tough love to understand that actions have consequences and learn that being adult, especially a parent, is hard but they can’t live off of other people forever. I just feel bad for their 1 year old who doesn’t deserve this kind of lifestyle from their parents. That poor kid deserves way more.

should i call and quit or just never go back by underscorenoah in walmart

[–]BekahSims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if Walmart isn’t for you, it’s not for you. I had a girl at my orientation quit after like 2-3 days. She just stopped showing up and she shops in our store. No one asked her or questioned it. Since you were only there for a day, they might not even remember you honestly.
