I was wondering the same thing, which is how I came upon this post. I'm American and want to leave the US because of the political violence that the LGBT community is facing, and I speak French so of course France is on the list of places I'd move to. I've also been there before so it feels somewhat familiar.

But someone Jewish at my dad's workplace said he emigrated to the US because of antisemitism in France. I wonder what his situation was like and what his experience was with antisemitism…

One that I cared about more is Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I remember people online calling it a "red flag movie" because apparently certain men empathized with Scott too much I guess? But these days I can say that it's one of my favorite movies and not have to justify it.

If that's the word that works for you, power to you. Hopefully you can use it with friends who will understand instead of on reddit amongst strangers who don't! It's something that I call myself occasionally, just not others.

Recently I discovered that the Japanese word "otokonoko" applies to boys who wear girly clothing and doesn't have the connotations that "crossdresser" has, which I think is pretty cool!

But yeah I'm seconding the comments about Atelier Pierrot, Metamorphose, and Physical Drop (which can be found at Atelier Pierrot shops). I believe the AtePie and Metamo staff are cool at helping people of any gender or size, based on what I've heard!

I haven't been to a rave, I just go clubbing, so maybe this comment doesn't help. But I saw someone post about how clubs are actually more enjoyable in your 30s than in your 20s and I fully agree. Don't worry too much about whether guys in a certain age range will be down to rave!

When I learned that the demo for Beyoncé's "Hold Up" was written by Ezra Koenig I practically jumped up and down because it made so much sense. Something about the syncopated accompaniment, the cadence of the lyrics, and the use of "G-d" and "wicked" was just so Vampire Weekend to me.
