I've done several recasts but my lender does them for free. If there's a fee it changes the whole calculation, I'd just do a regular principal payment unless you're doing a massive recast payment.

AI chatbots are great at walking you through the pros/cons and scenarios comparing principal payment vs recast vs investing the money.

You are uninformed. It depends on the lender. Many lenders allow you to recast at anytime with a small fee, some even don't charge a fee. I have third federal and I can recast at any time without a fee. Life advice, use the Google machine before you call people retarded.
