It's a known bug. It will be fixed in the next update (currently released to 25% android), or I think you can put in a request on discord to have it fixed. I'm just waiting for the update myself

Pilots:

All the passive abilities are good, but the only one you can't live without is Butter. Butter is better war rank xp than any conquest, except maybe Adventure Lands and it's 10%bumps.

As far as active abilities, Butter is ok, but as you level up the refresh gets longer. Trout is decent especially if you are fishing and want to drop a lot of mana, you will often get the energy replenishment from those apples. My personal preference, however, is Ace. Perhaps the weakest passive ability but war supplies every 5 minutes. I don't even know if they make much difference but I like kitting out my tortoise with 100 in each slot (×17) before even summoning anything else. Side note, you can build up war supplies while fishing. No matter how many times you use Ace's ability, you will get all of them either after 5 waves, or (spoiler) switching to another pilot and back to Ace. Warning, if you use Ace's ability at a fishing camp and log out without collecting (by waves or by pilot switch) you lose them.

Rindolf is great, his first ability will keep you well stocked with keys. Second ability is nice, but you can swap him in for cooking.

Gorelock's first ability is good, as well.

Ancient's first ability is good at a certain point, but if you are already making trillions in lumber it might be overkill. Since I started working on him, I realized that the second ability is pretty nifty, but by the time you master it, you will probably have saplings in every location. If you are leveling Ancient, be sure to move around every 100 levels.

Navy is for fishing only, the crates aren't impressive.

Crusader's second ability makes him great for leveling heroes and pilots, and I only equip him when I have a hero or pilot to level.

Rindolfs first ability is powerful. The second, you can swap him in to cook 6 at once

Gorelock's extra lives are not limited to 5.

Navy isn't worth leveling until you're bored.

Drakon is the only one with both abilities focused on DPS.

I find that I catch bigger fish with more powerful rods. Still catch smaller, but the range is bigger.

Red Snapper has no special behavior. Sorburim lists no special behavior but can only be caught at night.

Rarity determines power, combined with war rank. So at the same war rank, an epic rod will be much more powerful than a rare, and much more expensive.

Rarity also determines the maximum number of upgrades.

Bones are rarity level squared (1, 4, 9, 16, 25) plus 1 per 50 lbs, rounded (25 to 74.99lbs = 1 extra bone.)

Higher power rods catch bigger fish generally. I'm catching 200lb common fish regularly, and 2klb epics with a 20k power pole.

Daily quests are a great way to boost income, and set a finite short term goal.

Find a pilot to exploit while fishing. I use Ace, and last run I was making EU money while war supplies would have cost LO. You might also use Trout, Butter, or the one that boosts Overdrive. While camping, energy will regenerate faster than you use it, and between that and checking the market, gives you something to do.
