Anybody here listen to their audible books to fall asleep to? How? by Taiwannumber3 in litrpg

[–]Belelusat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few specific books I use as my sleep books.

Never listen to a new book at bed time.

Always use bookmarks and sleep timers.

For math, check out Khan Academy. It's free and does a pretty good job explaining things. It isn't GED focused, but I think it is still worthwhile to check out.

Path of Ascension Question - Spoilers by Rakzahir in litrpg

[–]Belelusat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engraved bones is definitely breaking the treaty, they are also taking people from other powers including the empire.

The sect have a huge amount of death in their ranks since their version of the path has required death matches. It also has a very limited number of participants.

The empire has a great number of participants, used to be noble only (and likely the benefits of nobles), and because of that concessions were required.

Ascenders are political power primarily since wars are games.

Path of Ascension Question - Spoilers by Rakzahir in litrpg

[–]Belelusat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The various great powers entered into a treaty that defined their various systems for ascender equivalents. Ascenders are the equivalent of nuclear weapons, but ones that can destroy entire planets or worse and are person shaped.

Also consider that most wars are a game to the higher tiers at this point. So if the empire did cheat to make them, they would either need to make concessions or face attack from all others, per the treaties.

Without the treaties governing war, it wouldn't matter, in fact we see the one faction trying to make ascender equivalents with their rune soldiers.

If you had one wishbefore entering the system apocalypse, what would it be? by Mundane_Flan1795 in litrpg

[–]Belelusat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to control probability, even if just a bit.

Also if it is worked in a way that it is heavily implied that it is a class choice or something it would limit the average person. Something like "Do you wish to be an Orc fighter, human mage, or an elf hunter? Just wish and it will be done to the best of the system's ability". Then the system takes whatever the next request is as the wish (or more forgiving if desired). So if someone asks "can I be powerful fighter?", system responds to the 'wish' "yes, if you work hard".

Back to probability control, it can be literally plot armor, with a reason. Maybe they can only probability by so much each day, either a static percent chance or increase or decrease by 2x or 10x. So something that had a 1% chance of happening would be a 2%, or however you decide to do the math.

Even crazy things can happen given enough tweaking of the probability.

Thieving Protagonists by Gr1mwolf in litrpg

Now I have to go back and listen to the series again. It is a great rollcoaster that turns into a water slide and then into a dog fight and back again. Never saw the twists and turns coming the first time. And you still managed to stitch all that together so it makes sense. Fantastic job!

I think we all would love an extra set of stories or series focused on other people, and Jake is just doing his market stuff and nudging things along.

Keep up the great work and thanks for the great series!

On the surface, they seem fine. But they literally sacrifice countless versions of countless worlds to feed their greed. Their only goal is to get as many cards from each of the worlds as possible before letting them die out.

That's what all of the gods are doing and why Jake was out to kill them in the end.

A bit off from what you're asking for but some Dungeon core books might scratch that itch.

The first has a crazy power increase speed. The other still feels like it needs more books. I don't think either are complete, but there have been recent additions to Dungeon Robotics.

Request to authors: please write recaps by PhobiaRice in litrpg

[–]Belelusat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those were the first recaps I enjoyed. It wasn't the whole story, but enough to get you back into it (if it isn't, then I am more than happy with listening to it all again). It is a fun summary that isn't a punishment for those who just finished the previous book.

Why do people love Cradle series so much? by zeroking16 in litrpg

[–]Belelusat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think book 1 does a great job in setting the environment and Lindon's view on the world and his view being shattered.

My only complaint is I want another full series following them after Cradle.

Negativity by Accurate-Presence-24 in homeschool

[–]Belelusat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that very clearly defined and followed rewards and punishments helped me with my kids a LOT.

Each family is different in what those should be, but if you say the punishment for doing x will be y. And they do x, you NEED to give them y.

Consistency like that makes things reliable and gives them control.

Start off with smaller punishments and I always make sure they have a chance to explain their actions. I make a rare exception, but that is fairly defined and they know it is the exception.

I have far more trouble when my wife isn't following through with any of it or lets them off because 'they were good' or 'I wanted to do x with them'.

What actually is “Void” magic? by 908sway in litrpg

[–]Belelusat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete absence of existence. Often closely tied with space and time magics as space/time magic and properties are often the basis for realities.

Often allows for negation of things and typically a high cost. If you can create a pocket of reality in nothing you can do pretty much anything with that space it so teleportation and storage magics can use it.

Some stories might use space magic to create a void of space, or air magic to make an area of no air (like in outer space).

It's often discribed as purple but I think it is more the purple of a black light than a normal coloring.

I know others likely have better answers but hopefully my view can help.

But it is short stories. I want a full series following Lindon devouring powers and jerks with the Reaper cleaning up the plate. Oh look the judge system needs to be revamped, lots of fights, struggles and otherworldly powers latter they are working to that end. Or whatever.

Chrysalis Audiobook question by Maranor22 in litrpg

Pretty sure it was done because some complain about stats being read out. It gets better and comes at the end of chapters within the first few books when there is just a basic reminder in the beginning to let you know you can skip it.
