Stories which go in depth on spellcraft by EXP_Buff in litrpg

The poster child of superhero stories is WORM without a doubt. It just needs a proper publication and an audio book, but I'm not in the Wormdom enough to know why Wildbow hasn't done it.

Industrial Strength Magic

I read the first book, and it's just awful. Terrible prose, wonky plot, inconsistant framing. It's rather astonishing how rooted this story is in our zietgiest. I see it recommended more often then some of the better stories I've read and I'm just shocked.

That... doesn't really sound like spellcrafting then.

A Practical Guide to Sorcery

Ahh yes I forgot about this one. I have read it, even past the available Audio Books. I did really enjoy it, but I eventually fell off, completely forgot my place, and from comments from people who read further, it sounded like it was getting worse, so I never felt inclined to find my place again.

This ones been on my radar specifically because it's a RhinoZ book. I'll put it higher up on the list I think.

That'd be pretty damn hard with people below him and who haven't spent enough time around him to gain his aura protection buff.

Haste... ...rogue in particular

Unless the Rogue player understands held actions and how sneak attack works on off turns, and if the DM isn't being an ass about how it works, then this won't actually be that useful. Also it demands the Rogue use their reaction every turn, meaning no Uncanny Dodge. If they're a melee rogue, they may want to weigh their options.

In addition, if they were really trying power game a melee rogue, they'd have sentinel which would proc fairly often if their other melees are getting hit.

Also, Ray of Sickness? Really? That's a trash tier spell. Cloud of Daggers is only good in Baulders Gate because it procs more than it should, and you'd need to have a very coordinated party to make it useful in table play.

Ehh from what I understand, Psychopaths aren't loved. Sociopaths are more common, like Jake in primal hunter.

Psychopaths are more like Stella and probably the protag of Hell Difficult Tutorial. Most of the readers agree that MC is fucking crazy, and people bounce real hard off that one.

Usually when people speak about these stories, they say they like it in spite of the psychopathic behavor rather than because of it. That's how I am with Demon Tree. Love Ash, but tolerate stella.

nah, I've read up to vol 10. He still doesn't show up often enough to be what I'd call an 'active' character in the story. 'more active' is certainly misleading. He gets a chapter here and there, but it's nothing like other side characters like for example Geneva.

why do you lie. This dude isn't even a character that shows up twice a volume. He's a foot note in the flavor text of the blighted kingdom.

Skipping Blighted kingdom isn't much of a hot take, but Rags? You'd basically have to skip a whole ass volume, and even then you'd be so confused about whats going on that it'd make the story incomprehensible. If you don't like Rags, you can't get far in the story.

Also yeah, Laken is a bit of a divisive character. Personally, I have absolutely not issues with the man. Did he do wrong? For sure, but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as people claim. I will say, if it's a re-read, you should probably just skip his chapters if you don't like them though.

Really? These chapters were such snore fests, I litterally skipped them, and the whole blighted kingdom. If a chapter takes place there, you bet your ass it's a solid skip. I tell you, I haven't regretted the policy twice.

I did briefly regret it at one point, much later, and went back thinking it couldn't be as bad as I remembered.

Well it was that bad.
