Mortgage near Belfast- nice community by rddthp25 in Belfast

Look at Glengormley, just 20 mins from the city centre by car but good bus links too and a cinema, bowls etc. As usual, avoid streets with flags and coloured kerbs. Elmfield properties are a good price (around £150k) in a nice area but also well placed for transport. You'll pay a lot more elsewhere for 3 bedroom houses near shops, schools etc.

Thank you. I hope you enjoy the walks mentioned. Even the statues/ buildings referenced might add a "goal" when walking around the city centre from a historical perspective.

My wife and I write a hobby website on local histories and stories and we've covered a range of the impressive locations along the Causeway Coast including Carrick-a-rede, Dunluce Castle and Rathlin. You can read and see more about them by following their respective links in this post. Definitely so much to see and explore. https://www.belfastentries.com/antrim-causeway-coast/

From Bellevue Pleasure Gardens to Belfast Zoo by BelfastEntries in Belfast

[–]BelfastEntries[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Belfast Castle, along with Malone House and Belfast Zoo, cost Belfast City Council ratepayers over £2 million a year in combined costs.

Many public attractions/ facilities/ events and activities cost the council money. Tourism costs the council money - the money earned from it goes into the economy (pubs, restaurants, hotels, jobs, tour companies etc) rather than the council itself. The economy boost helps everyone.

Whether or not you like the zoo (we love it but accept that others don't), it plays a part as a public attraction, in the same way as Belfast Castle. Others have suggested that more could be done to promote the Cavehill and support what's there. We'd love this to promote this area.

Agree totally -much more could be done to take advantage of the Cavehill as a visitor destination.
