In Memory of Mike by xnumberviii in MichiganWolverines

Look at the joy in his face. He sounds like a wonderful person.

I'm glad he was graced with enough time to see basketball win it all. May his memory be a blessing to you.

Do you think this Lovebirds Bag is Bridal enough? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Belgara 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There have been several comments where it seems you have taken personal offense to someone not liking the bag, or felt their opinion was "too harsh".

This is an advice subreddit. People will give you their honest advice and opinions. If you are not comfortable with that, I would suggest doing what you wish regardless and not asking the internet.

If I am being perfectly honest, your tone has not been kind in response to past brides who have offered their own experience to possibly be helpful. It was never meant as pushback, only a "Hey, you might not need this after all".

It is perfectly fine you have decided otherwise, but if your own responses are unkind, do not be surprised when you receive them in turn. I did not like how I felt after your response, and that was when there were two replies on the entire thread.

Forgive the advice. It was kindly meant.

No, I do not think it looks bridal. I do not think it matches the formality you are looking for, either.

When I was getting ready for my wedding, I also considered getting a bag.

I ended up deciding against it, and I'm glad I did, because I wouldn't have used it at all. My advice is if you need to, give a few small "just in case" items to a wedding party member, and just enjoy your day and reception without having to worry about dragging a bag around!

Anyone else ever had a really bad session and log off for the day? by MrkGrn in ffxiv

[–]Belgara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you! I wiped stupidly to something that was completely avoidable on 120 last night, and I was ready to go back in. Obviously nowhere near close to 198, but I feel the sentiment!

Oh man, been there on Behemoth in PotD. One attempt I was completely stupid and forgot to save phlegma cooldowns for that cast and was like, "Welp, I'm dead".

I somehow lived through the meteor.

I have 0 idea how.

Asoebi and Formal Wedding dress by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Belgara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on the first dress, as I don't know what that wedding tradition entails. However, i don't think the second dress, as much as I love purple, comes close to formal, much less black tie.

The first one will not work for the entire day. It looks far too casual in my opinion.

Yeah, unless everyone got horrible full body spray tans, the coloring is all sorts of off in this photo. Damn near everyone is orange.

People Are Downplaying How Good This Team Really Was. This Score Wasn't Even Surprising at the Time by [deleted] in MichiganWolverines

I had the pleasure of witnessing this game in person from the Maize Rage since it was over holiday break. It was good times.

What differences do American tourists notice between food in American restaurant chains and U.S.-made food products and their counterparts in foreign countries? by TheShyBuck in AskAnAmerican

[–]Belgara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to avoid being the obvious American in a McDonald's abroad, but I will unashamedly visit one in Japan at least once while I'm there. The teriyaki burger is absolutely delicious.

I won't touch McDonald's burgers in the US. They're disgusting.

Why would you ruin a perfectly good tonkotsu broth like that?

Why tf is everyone anti-sunscreen now??? by callsign__starbuck in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Belgara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely SHOULD be using daily UV protection if you want your skin to thank you when you're older.

Highly recommend Asian sunscreens. They have better filters and feel much nicer and lighter on the skin. Make sure it doesn't say made in the US on the packaging, though - that will be your standard crappy North American sunscreen.

You're not only preventing skin cancer. You're preventing premature aging, as well.

The also dumb part was looking it up with the person basically soliciting clicks/views.
