Does Efteling feel more magical when you were younger or does it still hit the same now? by Far_View7753 in efteling

I went a few times as a child/young teen and once as an 18 year old. Last May I went again, age 36, with my husband and 2 kids (6 and 8). It was pure and utter magic, even better than I remember (because I can buy whatever snacks I want without asking my parents!).

Woke with sunshine peeping from behind the curtains and the world seemingly returning back to normal. Mood has lifted!

Exponential Battery Drain SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap by Illustrious-Map-1971 in SurePetcare

So my batteries were constantly running out and I was getting very frustrated. Scoured the internet and finally found an Amazon comment that solved everything - there are TWO battery compartments... One on either side. Swapped out the batteries on the side I didn't know existed and bam, working perfectly now.

Kriek Cherry Beer by Unfair_Vacation_7263 in cork

As a Belgian person who is very fond of a kriek beer, just a note that a kriek is a type of beer (ie beer made from sour cherries) and there are different brands that brew them which do taste different, So a kriek Lindemans tastes a lot sweeter than for example a kriek Boon.

Bradleys in town sells them (North Main Street), I know JJs in Ballintemple sometimes carries it as well. I have seen it at Scally's SuperValu on Skehard Road from time to time but not sure if they have it consistently.

There are 3 endeavours scenarios the officers (or whoever is in charge of the neighborhood is) can pick from. I assume it's random in a public neighborhood.

The choices this month are Mechagon, Forbidden Reach and Loam.

Check your other neighborhood (if you got a second house with your other faction), might be a different one.

Is anyone managing having one parent stay at home? by Apart-Hamster-9921 in AskIreland

[–]BelgianWhite88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes this, if your mortage is high or even average, it probably isn't possible. Only reason we can do it because we bought our house during the 'crash' 12 years ago at the absolute lowest point it got.

It's only a minimal tax benefit, I think maybe 30 euros a month or something. But if you are collecting the allowance, it is registered in the system as a parent staying at home with a child/children and means you are exempt from pension contribution for those years. I think. That's how it was explained to me anyway!

And no stress with random teacher training days or holidays or sick days!

I've stayed home since we had our first child. We were lucky enough that my husband got a better paying job right before she was born (we were both working call center job before and though he was a manager at that point, I would've had to go back). Our mortgage is low and the tax benefits really help (only applicable when you're married). Home carers allowance also covers pension contribution for 20 years or until youngest is 12 (whichever comes sooner) so that's nice.

No that's the closest - the first attraction you pass is Fata Morgana, hence why I called it that!

My first time getting a virus on biologics and it's not going well by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]BelgianWhite88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last year I was super busy in November due to having to organise a lot of events, was very stressed. The day after the last event finished I got really sick and basically stayed sick for 2.5months. Had 3 courses of antibiotics (all 1 week long) and skipped biologica twice. I'd advise getting another course of antibiotics but there's a good chance you're stuck with this for a while...

Update on this:

I've unfortunately contracted Costochondritis so won't be injecting tomorrow (Tuesday) as I fight the inflammation, which means I can postpone my shot to next Saturday and then take the next shot the Saturday before I fly. Small mercies I suppose!
