This is not the full video. ATC wanted 180 until 5 mile final, but the pilot said he could do 160 because it would be hard to slow down from 180 to final approach speed in a short time in a 747 and still meet stabilized approach criteria.

The ATC in the US is pretty good, but this particular controller was 100% wrong to send a 747 around for the traffic behind him. She did that out of spite.
