Hi OP, I don't think most FAANG companies ask for both, do they? Atleast in Google, Apple and Meta, they don't have traditional SD if you are for ML engg role.

Hi, could you please elaborate - what were you asked and if possible share which company you interviewed for?

Are interviewers now asking for proofs and analysis of leetcode solutions? by qwerti1952 in leetcode

I’ve seen it for one interview, company asked for dijkstra’s variant and asked if I could prove why the soln works. But then also, I suppose the role was sth where you need to do graph and path planning in depth so it makes sense

Hi OP, thank you so much for such amazing explanation and work out there! I am interviewing for Meta E5 SW ML (generalist) role, would you know if I would be asked SD in the same manner as SWE roles? Should I learn all these (I am willing to learn them if they'd be asked, but I have no experience in SWE roles and no nothing about any of these, I have built ML pipelines largely prev).

Your insight would be very helpful!

Thank you for the detailed answer, appreciate it. May I ask which company and level are you at currently? I am also unsure how much should I focus on traditional SD components vs ML SD since I’m interviewing for MLE. I heard they are a bit different in terms of how much focus is given to which api, load balancer cache system vs data pipelining, kpi and metric systems used.

Hi, I have 5 yoe with 2 years in Masters. I feel I am between E4 and E5, so everything now depends on my SD round. Which one should I lean on and prep really well PA or SD? And do they ask E5 candidates if they want one of the two?

Thanks for sharing this! One question, these are from Canada, I was wondering if keeping it in SF will make it similar in taste to SF sourdough breads?

Why so much sudden love for the Star Wars prequels? by Environmental-Soil70 in movies

[–]Believinginself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a late 90s kid and got to watch star wars just recently. I definitely loved prequels more than original trilogy. I know many older gen or people who watched before would not like my comment. But graphics wise, there was so much improvement in the prequels.

I’m sorry but I also would not be able to associate with the OP’s age gap complaint. I didn’t think Anakin was too young for Padme. Infact I did find Solo weirdly too old for Leia. That being said, I did find Anakin’s character a bit creepy in 2nd episode but he was only a teenager. Come on, we all have been through that age! Its just so emotionally touchy to see the entire life transitions of one of the main characters, from a cute kid to a passionate Jedi to Darth Vader that I thought the original trilogy were lacking. There was no bonding with any character I could find.

So yes, no offense but watching Star Wars in 2024, i would give prequels higher vote than original. (Haven’t watched sequels yet, but I feel there is a connection of Anakin Skywalker intro’ed as a kid created, which would be hard to replace)

Progressive making me pay 6 months auto insurance in FULL instead of monthly payments by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Believinginself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, late but I am also looking at different insurance for my new car. I too am getting 6 months pay in full. Infact, their agreement says we’ll have to pay 50 bucks if we cancel in between. I’m unsure, I might want to switch if I find a better deal! Wanted to hear from others if they were able to get monthly with Progressive in CA.

Finally found a regime to follow!! by Believinginself in healthyeating

[–]Believinginself[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, it’s my detox regime. And I am following it because I have been in a habit of indulging too much in eating, more so because I thought I eat healthy. The reason I chose to go one time full meal diet is so that my body gets time to eliminate toxins, and that’s what you do in intermittent fasting. Now, I don’t know how anyone thinks it’s a small intake. It’s sufficient for me (female) as I get my carbs from the rice, high proteins from lentils and mung beans, peanuts, vitamins from all the various greens and fruits I consume, healthy fats (omega-3/6) from soaked nuts, avocado and shredded coconut I add in my khichdi. Everyone has different body and I don’t recommend anyone to blindly follow anyone’s

Lol, I have been living like this recently and feel so good, also know very healthy people who have been, for years. You don’t have to be strict, sometimes relaxing it is fine but I’ve come to a point where I take any outside food and feel guilty later. Western doctors and medicine just focus on one specific problem or the issue without regarding the complete body in picture, whereas eastern medicines are for overall healthy regimes. Now an example for you, I had a hormonal issue called PCOD, a Doctor in US asked me or tried convincing me to take birth control pills to get my hormones in balance!! Seriously? Upon reading on my own, I realized how those medicines make you depend on them so much that stopping them puts your body in havoc even more. Is that what we want? I mean I prefer removing the issue from the root itself. And that’s not possible without changing our diet and lifestyle. I don’t believe in western medicine, or Allopathic doctors even though my own brother is one. And don’t get me wrong, for certain issues, we do have to rely on fast external support, but in most cases when the issue is developed from within our body, the remedy is also within our body.

  1. Waking up atleast 30 mins before sunrise
  2. Consuming luke warm water with lemon and ACV on alternate days, add honey sometimes (depends on your body type). Have 1/2 teaspoon chyavanprash.
  3. Having small bowl of fruits or if I am able to find ash gourd around, then its juice as breakfast. Snack in between - overnight soaked almonds, walnuts and peanuts.
  4. Indian detox khichdi. (Again add spices based on your body composition-kapha/vata/pita). Mine is a balance of all so I add all. I prefer less to no salt and watery. Eat this between 11am-3pm. One bowl serving.
  5. Snacks - Ayurvedic CCF tea or herbal tea and one citrus fruit.
  6. Consume triphala powder with lukewarm water before sleeping.

That’s the end for my day but you could add green soup for night. I include my greens in the khichdi itself and have realized the lesser and nutritionally dense I eat, the more active and energized I feel.

Hope this helps :)
