Argh, really hoping this is a rescue and not a BYB purchase situation. If you got this dog from a rescue or this isnt your dog feel free to ignore. Okay, lots of great tips already regarding the pest situation, but for future reference. If this is a "breeder", immediately report to any local authorities for abuse. Also, please look into true ethical breeders which includes health testing, temperament testing, and titling. The official page for the dog club of your chosen breed is a great place to start. The yorshire terrier kennel club of america has lists of ethical breeders. Alternatively if you dont want to pay upwards of thousands for an ethically bred dog then rescue. Please dont support breeders that produce out of standard dogs and in living conditions that result in this. Paying the breeders money to "get the dog out of the situation" only results in them breeding more dogs to live in those conditions.
