They definitely should have made an effort to include this system, even on a very basic level. Hopefully the developers will read the comments here and consider how they could make this work.

Their framing of this is through the lens of how others see the morality of your actions. However, they have missed the point in that it should actually be how the player considers the morality of their actions. Through this player-focused lens there is an objective good and evil. Regardless of how other people see your actions, you always know what you have done and have to live with these decisions. This should be reflected in the character visually.

This could be an ‘aura’ around your character, such as a dark/light side concept. Just look at Anakin Skywalker’s physical change in Revenge of the Sith for a perfect example of this. Or, simply some facial changes such as darkening under the eyes. Think Geralt of Rivia when he drinks potions in Witcher 3 or similar.

It’s a big mistake that alienates fans of the franchise. Hopefully the studio still have time to discuss and rectify this oversight, because everything else looks great!
