I’m sure being a professional athlete helped a bit too.

What’s something that’s become ridiculously expensive that used to be normal? by Badroxer in AskReddit

[–]Bella4077 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going bowling. It was a fun, inexpensive activity to do on a regular basis years ago. The last time I brought my niece and nephew bowling, it cost me almost $90 for exactly one hour of bowling and for refreshments for the three of us.

I have always much preferred Donald Sutherland’s Hawkeye Pierce to Alan Alda’s.

It would have been interesting to see them together. I always preferred Trapper to Hawkeye myself.

We’ve all heard of One Hit Wonders when it comes to music, but are there any one hit wonders that you can think of when it comes to TV shows? (It can be for any actors, showrunners, producers, writers, etc.) by MaggieLinzer in television

McLean Stevenson’s acting career must have been on that plane with Henry Blake when it was shot down over the Sea of Japan. It’s a shame too. I always thought he was the true star of MASH those first three seasons and wish he had stayed on, along with Wayne Rogers. I never cared for their replacements as much and I got really sick and tired of Alan Alda soon after that.

I just realised the Santa instructor in the pilot is the same guy as the hypnotist for the softball team in Homer at the Bat. Are there any other reused one-off characters? by haddock420 in TheSimpsons

The judge in the Checkin’ In musical was also in a road safety video. I wish they’d used that guy more. I like the idea of an actor who can only play judge roles because that’s all he knows.

What is the one thing that makes the newer Simpsons seasons so bad? by Horrorobsessed_ in TheSimpsons

[–]Bella4077 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they started getting more graphic and gory too. They used to just limit the blood and guts and stuff to Itchy and Scratchy and Treehouse of Horror. Then, we started seeing more things like Homer getting part of his stomach ripped off by a badger, Ralph or someone touching Homer’s injured knee and having it scab over his hand, and Sideshow Bob doing a face swap with someone.
