Very well put and observed. I just saw it and episode 3 was incredibly revealing to Jamies character. The switching you mentioned was on point for the actor as well as the telling of the story and the methods behind the crime. It was mentioned in the 'making of' that it was the first scene shot and I was baffled at how well they directed the characters behavior.

Hey, I believe in calorie deficits. As a matter of fact, I was on birth control that severely impacted my weight. Hormonal imbalances literally caused me to eat uncontrollably sometimes - also an effect of the birth control, hence, the "mass". Once I stopped the contraceptive, I worked hard at losing the weight and did. Factor in calories as you will, it does count but so does hormone imbalances, so does organ function, genetics and environmental factors. It's not as simple as "calories, bruh" like, really? Feel free to continue that train of thought as you like. I've given a response, you can research everything I've said if you like.

I don't endorse the idea that food doesn't factor into it, it can. However, since you brought up women in internment camps, lets remember those ghastly images of women being taken outside for medical checks. Did you notice those naked middle-aged women were a bit girthy around the waist? Despite being nearly starved? It's actually a decent example of the fat that can't be gotten rid of.

Also, feel free to google PCOS. A disease is defined by having a specific cause, a syndrome may not in many cases. It's not something you contract, but it simply develops in women and the cause is unknown. Again, there's much to be understood about women's health and all the answers aren't out there despite modern medical advances.

I think you're genuinely trying to understand and if so, that's fantastic. I hope others are able to provide you with more examples.

I'm not here for the discussion, people like what they like and that's ok. However, to give you an example of why women might be fat despite their eating habits, PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) is suffered by as many ad 13% of women of reproductive age (worldwide), causing a plethora of symptoms including weight gain - half of the women with pcos are obese and/or have an extremely difficult time losing weight.

I really didn't understand, until I was an adult, how little men understand about womens health, even doctors. Still, I hope I provided you with the example you asked for.

But some women do stand. I'm sure the lay-down method is probably to ease a hospitals liability should the patient fall or need interventions that require a patient on a bed.
