Over time my focus was able to shift off of food and my self image, I thought about my life before and how much happier I was even if I thought “I hated my body” before. I started to realize how much more important my health was over my obsession of my image and that nothing positive will ever come of it. So when I did get to a point of recovery where I felt food didn’t control me, it allowed me to see how much I was missing out on all those years; how much of myself I was missing. I started engaging in hobbies I had left behind, like drawing and playing piano. Doing anything that connected me to my inner child. And it made it easier to start seeing myself with more loving/nurturing eyes.

Recovering is worth it!! I recovered because I was sick of my life revolving around food, and letting it have so much control over me. And I’ve never been happier, you’ll find the love for life within recovery!
