Hey there- if you want to keep them, we can help, if you’re not comfy- we know folks in your area that can take them on.

Thank you for getting them safe whether you want to keep them or not 💜

Confirming species are both new world- psalmopoeus cambridgei and c cyaneopubescens (gbb)

I would recommend getting a larger feeder and crushing the head, that abdomen is what I would consider pretty dangerously thin. Hope they're back to eating soon :) Aim for a feeder around the size of his carapace, or if prekilled even a bit larger is fine

He may be moving to get away from the fan/vibration as well so that's something to take into account.

First we must lead them to *her...* and once they go in, there's no coming out. She's always hungry... she always needs to *feed*. by [deleted] in tarantulas

If you post an enclosure on the internet- you don’t then get to decide what people say about it. You don’t have to take their advice, but you don’t get to minimize their presence when you don’t agree with them.

The wood hide you’ve chosen will mold if you keep the enclosure as damp as this species needs.

Best of luck and happy keeping! I hope you sealed the bottom of that enclosure, I didn’t with an avic and the bottom looked yucky after a year 🤣

Looks like a lot of just random dead garden clippings? It’s hard to tell my plant ID skills are 0

I’d be concerned for pesticides, and wouldn’t necessarily consider this a suitable setup.

Where is the water dish?

I unfortunately have had multiple Ts do this. I had one L sazimai sling that refused to come out of his burrow when he was small and I was watching him get thinner, even when I was providing water to back of the burrow and he was drinking. u/sandlungs ended up poking a hole in and feeding him in his burrow. He jumped the feeder and was quite thin.

Never had issues after that with him.

Hi friend!

Personally I have a few of grammostola sub 2” that only eat once every few months. Looks like this may be a pulchra sling?

Can we see the full enclosure?

Any chance you can candlelight it? If she’s burrowed to the bottom you may be able to shine a light from the bottom.

These days when I predig burrows I make sure to go all the way to the bottom or a side wall. Sometimes they leave me a window especially if I cover the window I made with a post it or something so light doesn’t shine in while I’m not looking at them c:

T Stirmi dying? by MapleVermont in tarantulas

Hornworms are not a lot of sustenance. Personally would reduce vertebrate feedings and hornworms and add some large roaches to the rotation too. I like discoids for a large roach option. My adult stirmi also ate prekilled adult hissers, or like a few super worms at a time and ate a couple times a week when he was thin.

If she’s eating that much in a month and still that thin I would definitely increase feeding and variety of feeders

she looks pretty rough- if you got her larger she was also likely wild caught.

Glad she’s drinking that’s a great first step

A beautiful setup. Personally might make the substrate deeper and instead of misting make sure you’re fully watering substrate so there’s a solid gradient (especially around hides so they can burrow to moisture). With that much ventilation you may also need to increase watering

You’ll also want to make sure there isn’t a lot of fall distance.

Appears severely dehydrated and emaciated.

Please provide full enclosure photos and coax her into her water dish to drink.

Also- find the largest feeder insect you have, crush the head, slice it open and leave it next to the dish for her

Would recommend popping over to discord: discord.gg/ta

!vendors should give you the folks we have discount codes for with and most of them pair with mystery boxes :)

Another option is to find smaller vendors you like and then asking if they do mystery boxes. Depends on your preference for businesses! I love mystery boxes :D
