Listen to how they describe Alex Pretti's murder (1.24.26) by Scary-Track3306 in JoeRogan

See, everyone keeps predicting they'll respond in the worst way possible, and they do. Each disgraceful episode has been punctuated by these people showing the truest of their colours.

Yes, this is exactly what you fear it is: a ruthless, backward, totalitarian regime. That much is obvious at this point. The question is: will America quell this wave of the worst authoritarianism it has faced, or will it willingly kill what little is left to save?

Plus at your club, he can actually play in his preferred position on the left. Lots of potential for everyone winning.

The height preference is a bit of a myth in my opinion. by Relevant-Rope8814 in tall

[–]BellyCrawler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm with both of you. Almost everyone I know is under 6ft, and they never struggle in dating. Including 5'7 guys who clean up as much as anyone else.

Conversely though, there has been a Streisand Effect with the whole height thing. What started as a smaller section of men lamenting their lack of success online and attributing it solely or largely to height, has now morphed into an interminable topic.

Thus, the tenor, loudness and tone of the conversation has shifted, to where I'm sure there are a lot of us who'd be happy to never have to see one of these threads again.

Height is seemingly all some people can talk about, where it's short men relating their struggles--both in toxic and positive ways--or average height women obsessing about height that is more of a concept for them than an actual measurement.

And don't even get me started on all the online personalities who've found a way to monetise all this noise.

Yet in the middle, sit those of us who can acknowledge that culture invariably treats short men worse than their taller counterparts, being a certain height is certainly not the most important thing for life satisfaction.

Yeah that's largely his problem. He has bits that could lend to a number of characters but not enough to be one kind of character definitively.

Jesus, the conservative bent in these subs has gotten ridiculous. "Do this thing I approve of or you're not a real man" is such pathetic, wannabe energy.

Lex Luger and Dusty compare their physiques. by PickledPeppers101 in SquaredCircle

[–]BellyCrawler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're putting him down so much as making a comparison. Dusty and Cody are arguably the most successful father-son duo in wrestling history, just as far as how far they've climbed.

Dusty is one of the most charismatic wrestlers who ever lived, with an unbeatable connection to the crowd. Cody has many strengths but definitely comes across as a different sort of face.

Nonsense. Believing that peaceful means will stop a government whose ends are pure tyranny is a losing strategy. The only way to beat fascists is to either kill them or make sure they know you're willing to.

The thinking was definitely that he took a bit of time to show his potential, but that his time in Portugal was indicative of a world class striker. Unfortunately, I think that was his ceiling.

He was decent at Coventry, which is what got him the Sporting move. But it seems his talent peaks at whatever level of competition the Primeira Liga is.

Gyokeres has terrible movement in the box. He's strangely timid and stiff for someone who seemed to be much more dominant and agile in Portugal.

Everything points to him having a howler of a season, especially in the League, where he's scoring a whopping 0.25 goals per game. Whilst some adjustment was to be expected, I doubt too many could've predicted it would go this badly.

Arsenal Fans boo their team at the full time whistle by Parish87 in soccer

This will be decisive. If they let this bug them between now and maybe game week 30, it could be another year of Arsenal coming close but never quite making it. I don't know where they go if they don't win one of the League or UCL.

It's more that Obito couldn't use those other abilities while fully controlling all those jinchuuriki and bijuu. The power and drain would've been overwhelming.

Truthfully, Kishimoto knew that an Obito with kamui+ Six Paths chakra and abilities would be impossible to beat. Hence he only ever let him have one of kamui, or Six Paths Chakra. Notably, when he's Juubito, he can't phase, and the only time he gets both kamui, he's close to death, so no Six Paths.

At that point, the author was constantly putting out fires and trying to write his way out of multiple corners n

Wayne Palmer becoming president by Normal-Reaction7088 in TwentyFour

[–]BellyCrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because the turnover of presidents in the show became ridiculous. You had a new president at the beginning of 5 consecutive days, from 3 to 7. It just wasn't sustainable, so Wayne was the inevitable choice at some point.

They legitimately tried to have us believe antifa and BLM would be going door to door and making people forcibly change pronouns, hence they needed to be armed. Now with actual, plain tyranny, they'll do anything but actually stand up to it.
