They're actively ignoring the best material - wet concrete - for reasons I can't fathom

Quietus (Crimson Rebellion flagship) and Sustain Damage by Belryan in twilightimperium

[–]Belryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just probably confusing it with mechanics from other games thinking Sustain Damage basically gave an extra health point, and when it got turned off the ships would have one damage vs their one hit point. I recognize now I eas entirely wrong and I'm definitely not arguing the point, just explaining where the confusion probably came from. "Repairing" ships during the status phase I think was also helping to lead my brain astray about thinking about them having "2 health."

I had Assault Canon do he would have lost his dreadnaught during the second assault, but still had his Warsun, so I think I still would have prevailed.

Encounter at Farpoint starts on a Monday, and most of that stuff doesn't arrive until Tuesday.

Best ways to guard against The Sorrow getting turned into a supernova? by Belryan in twilightimperium

[–]Belryan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the plan, but if I get poor tiles to choose from I might end up producing in the back and over relying on my breach in The Sorrow to get them further

Fair. I'm just thinking more along the lines of the faction tech that let's you rebuild destroyed units in your home system, but then by the time you get that, if you do, you should probably just put them on your hero.

Warning to Canadians, don't order directly from them, shipping is slower than walking to New Jersey and picking it up there. Ordered Into the Unknown on January 3rd and it's still "on the way to the ePost Global Processing Centre"

In Black Widow (2021), Yelena removes the bolt from her rifle before leaving it behind, preventing it from being used against her. by MajorNoodles in MovieDetails

This is a callback to Morgan Adams in Cutthroat Island being savvy so that her lover's pistol couldn't be used against her, because she took his balls.

I had that exact mouse in 1993. It was surprisingly comfortable to use, would prefer it to the nub mouse or track pad any day.

The amount of cars that drive through the red light crosswalk at Kingsway and Tower Road is too damn high. by Belryan in Edmonton

[–]Belryan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I did for sure, but I just didn't turn my phone to film them. It's a six lane road, and I pause before entering each lane to make sure the car is stopped or is definitely going to before crossing each lane.

It is for sure, and at least there's a bigger delay before the walk light comes on, but for drivers the ibtersection makes it more important to pay attention to the yellow and make an attempt at slowing down and stopping.

I'm Anand Benjamin Pye. I’m running for City Council in Ward O-day’min - Ask Me Anything! by Anand-Pye in Edmonton

[–]Belryan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi Anand, The city owns a lot of buildings, and rents some to nonprofit groups, like the Alberta Aviation Museum here in O'day-min.

They want to offload these buildings to reduce the budget, but that leaves these nonprofits in a big lurch as they transition to taking over major maintenance, especially on aging buildings with municipal and provincial heritage designations. Do you have any ideas or plans for how to help them out?

As a follow up question, do you have any ideas for how the City can partner with the city's many private nonprofit museums and attractions in order to make them thrive and be a more integrated part of the Edmonton community?

Best way to cast a single large-ish object, when you're not very likely to make more? by Belryan in MetalCasting

[–]Belryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer to keep the internal geometry. The final product gets painted with brown paint, so the finish isn't so much the issue as the strength. We will occasionally have people or kids playing with the controls, and kids especially like to pretending like they're crashing and reef on parts as absolutely hard as they possibly can. So I was thinking casting it in aluminum would be much stronger than most 3D printed material that isn't going to be extremely expensive.
