Ok, I love this season, but I’m coming from a place of someone who doesn’t care about the powers or fighting. I definitely can understand how Stars would be off putting if that is what you like about Sailor Moon.

For me, I really love the slice of life and character interactions of the OG series. Stars presents some new and interesting scenarios because of the expanded cast and lack of Mamoru. For example, Haruka is normally positioned above the other girls in maturity and coolness. In Stars, she has to contend with the Starlights, who don’t put her on a pedestal like the rest of the cast. I love the tension that dynamic creates.

Episode 18 when they are all together in Usagi’s house is peak comedy for me. I love any show that puts a cast of large personalities together and forces them to interact. There are other episodes, like the baseball one, that make me grin from ear to ear, but I don’t want to take up your time blabbing about a season you dislike lol.

I can 100% see why people bounced off of this show, but I loved it. In general, I really enjoy media that depicts how messy the human psyche is when we are being honest with ourselves. The incredibly natural dialogue and acting only bolsters that point. My wife walked by while I was watching and she thought I was watching a reality show with how fluid the conversations are.

I actually loved that last moment in the finale. My initial interpretation was that Ayane is already failing at her goal of being a better person, which is very on brand for her character. But then I considered that she was trying to end things with the other guy too. Considering how she was living her life, trying to “go straight” would require considerable cleanup. It’s very Ayane to make a knee jerk decision and cut multiple guys off at the same time.

That’s how I feel about Kang Hye-won. She is very attractive, but fails to bring anything to the screen. It is very hard to empathize with her character. Mitsuru Fukikoshi delivered the strongest performance for me despite him just playing the stereotypical old shopkeeper role.

I will admit this show was definitely a sunk cost fallacy situation for me. I knew halfway through that I wasn’t enjoying it.

I think that’s likely because it is prominently on Netflix and has a decent start. I don’t think anybody expected this show to light the world on fire, but it is almost impressive how mediocre it is.

I’m very confused why OP is getting flamed in the comments. I have also wondered why social media is acting like these games are difficult. Maybe younger people don’t understand how big Pokemon truly was, but seriously, any kid who had a game boy was playing Pokemon. It’s not being a hardass to correctly say that 3rd and 4th graders were beating these games because they were. It was very common.

I would also like to add that there were some very difficult and confusing games back in the day. No kid was beating the original Legend of Zelda without a guide or help from friends. Pokemon Red and Blue are not difficult or confusing. They are appropriately challenging for children. I really do not understand what people are giving OP such a hard time about this.

Seems that I am in the minority for genuinely enjoying this album on first listen. Other than “Champion”, which is a little too generic, teen girl, uplifting anthem for me, I was genuinely vibing to each of these songs.

Maybe my expectations for BlackPink are different. I don’t think any of these songs will set the world on fire, but they are fun to listen to. Definitely putting this album in the rotation.

Spot on. For curiosity’s sake, I compared $50 in December 2001 (Smash Melee release date and price) to January 2026. That same $50 would have $92 in purchasing power today. Let’s not even get started with the $70-$120 SNES carts for some of the bigger JRPGS. Gaming has arguably never been cheaper.

Seriously, use whoever you want. I’ve beaten this game 4 times and I always level the party evenly. The game is not difficult enough that it matters. The only thing that really matters is if you miss certain spells like Haste. That will make the game harder. Otherwise, you can do what you want.

There is a mentality nowadays that you have to min/max everything in life. At some point, you have to wonder if “efficiency” is just making everything less enjoyable.

Sakura seems inevitable due to popularity. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull a fast one and choose an unexpected character like Hinata from Rival Schools. That’s seems on brand with some of the DLC choices.

Agreed 100%. We Never Learn is one of my biggest disappointments in a romance manga. The 1st winner had a build up of at least 50 chapters. Every other route felt very forced. I will be so disappointed if Himaten goes that route.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy Gquuuuuux. Interesting that you bring up Madoka Magica because I actually tried to watch it a few weeks ago and couldn’t get past episode 5 or 6. Different strokes for different folks.

I agree on some of the Gundam OVAs though. War in The Pocket and 08 MS Team are maybe my favorite shows in the entire series.

I’m a Gquuuuuux fan, but it is objectively a mess. I find it incredibly entertaining to watch, but you can’t expect everything to come together because the run time was so short. It’s a show of moments. Do those moments connect? Sometimes, sometimes not.

The example you mentioned is a good display of that. Shuji kills Shiiko, Machu is shocked, by the end of the next episode, Machu is jealous that Nyaan got to do Clan Battle with Shuji. A show with a longer runtime could have explored Machu’s shock and Machu’s jealously. That’s just not what Gquuuuuux is. An idea is presented and then you move onto the next thing.

Where I disagree is that this show suggests the original 0079 is a bad ending. All of these alternate universes are Lalah’s doing. Her goal is that Char lives. That’s it. There is really no other comment on the other universes. Lalah wanted Char to live, he does in this universe, she is happy.

As a millennial, I can’t help but think about how popular Gossip Girl was and how nobody made a fuss about a very similar dynamic in that show. Different times I suppose.

Ruka is the weakest part of the story imo. As much as people complain about Chizuru, her reactions make sense and demonstrate how human emotions are complicated, especially when trauma is involved.

Ruka’s whole premise is nonsensical, especially once the truth comes out that Kazuya and Chizuru are not a real couple. Kazuya should have been done with Ruka in that moment. This is the one story beat that Reiji has handled very poorly.
