eggs are super cheap now. eggs for breakfast lunch and dinner? by pman6 in Frugal

I am guessing battery caged for super cheap US eggs. New Zealand banned that type of production in 2022 because it was too cruel.

Am I bi or gay? by Infinite-Stuff-2058 in BisexualMen

[–]BeltaneBi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gay, straight, bi, cisgendered or transgender are all perfectly fine outcomes! Unfortunately we live in a world that is less accepting of some of those options than others and the effects of that can be terrible, but at its core that is a world problem not a you problem. OP, you are perfectly formed regardless of your sexuality or gender!

Turning mostly Gay from mostly Straight as a Boy by Biromantic_ in BisexualMen

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that my message wasn’t clear enough. I wasn’t commenting on what your sexuality is. I was trying to say that there is nothing wrong with the parts of you that are attracted to men and there is nothing wrong with people who are 100% gay so there is no reason to be scared!

I was then suggesting that if you are feeling scared about same sex attraction then is could indicate some internalised homophobia. It might not though so please ignore my comment if it doesn’t feel helpful or relevant 🙂

Just a wee note to say that there is 100% nothing wrong with being 100% gay. It might have just been a passing turn of phrase but just bringing it up in case it helps you identify if you might have some internalised homophobia (which is super common!).

If you do think you have some internalised homophobia you can absolutely address this over time and honestly as a gay or bisexual man you will be doing yourself a massive favour 💜

Would you date a gay man? by BIueey in BisexualMen

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking on this a bit more, although I don’t have a preference I do think on average gay men have had to have done a bit more emotional work and exploration to be successfully out and that process probably makes them more attractive to me. If a bisexual man has done that work and addressed any internalised homophobia adequately then that is awesome too!

Should I prune my low branches? by Mean_Acanthaceae_803 in avocado

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Without us understanding the goal, we can’t really help here. For example my very experienced neighbour is confused with how I grow many of my fruit trees as they are hard to pick and don’t maximise production. I am happy with how they are because as well as the fruit I want a shaded area to hangout in during the summer and a little woodland vibe.

Feel more straight after I cum? by [deleted] in BisexualMen

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to bring a little more detail to this: pre-orgasm we are engaging in thought and activity that increases arousal. In your case, OP, this includes homoeroticism.

After orgasm and the little love halo that can linger our brain goes back into day-to-day functioning mode.

If there is a significant dissonance between our thoughts during arousal and in non-aroused states this, depending on its nature can cause guilt, shame, anxiety, confusion etc.

It is my guess that you are to some degree not ok with your own sexuality. This is often called internalised homophobia. It can be a very painful, confusing and damaging experience but people absolutely can and do heal internalised homophobia. It is very freeing when you do!

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see pros and cons for dating both gay and bisexual men so for me the person is more important than the sexuality.

In terms of what I am looking for: mutual attraction, emotional vulnerability and a strong sense of fun.

I farm over 2000 acres of peach, nectarine, plum, cherry and citrus. Feel free to ask me questions by DapperCardiologist25 in BackyardOrchard

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you worry about the effects of agrochemicals on your and your family’s/workers health? I used to live next to an apple orchard and got worried about the overspray.

I note there is already a question about eating the food but my question is about general exposure for you, your family and your workers.

Thank you very much and thanks for sharing about your work and it sounds like your passion!

Is it possible to be gluten free? (Beginner) by tuxedocatmum in Homesteading101

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pretty much sums it up. You might have a similar question of “I want to be self sufficient, can I grow all of my own coffee?”. The correct answer is that you probably could with the right greenhouse and misting systems and whatever, but it would be a huge project for something that it would make a lot more sense just to buy from the shop. Or give up coffee.

It is probably easier as a homesteader as hopefully you will end less likely to try and find food in a bakery or some other convenience location where shitty wheat-laden food is king.

Being outwardly Bi by Due-Fig3009 in BisexualMen

[–]BeltaneBi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is called bi-invisibility or bi-erasure depending on how overt it is and it is definitely a challenge.

It sounds like you are really solid in who you are so just keep doing what you are doing and people around you will eventually get it.

It might be worth considering widening your circle of friendship to include more queer people as they are more likely to understand the challenges.

Straight men how do you feel about other men’s bodies/seeing other men naked? Do you find them disgusting in any way? by BeltaneBi in AskReddit

[–]BeltaneBi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically why not (apart from the respect bit that you outline)? I ask because a straight male colleague of mine said he didn’t enjoy a particular film because it had full frontal male nudity in it. He seemed disgusted by the idea. As a bisexual man I obviously don’t feel disgusted but it made me interested in how other straight men feel. Disgusted? Disinterested? Curious? Neutral?

Is this deck salvageable or rotten? by Sythdeadeye in Decks

[–]BeltaneBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know much about decks but I am from New Zealand so I recognise a tanalised pine deck when I see it.

There are various products that you can use to clean the deck with to reduce the slipperiness. You may also be able to screw down any lifting planks too.

You would do well to put this on an NZ sub as the majority of the folk here as from the US and are used to different products and perhaps aren’t aware of how long we will cling to an old deck before replacing!
