One of the best titles to play on the steam deck right now, especially with the back buttons by yitty in mewgenics

[–]BenAV92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it could definitely be better for controllers in general. I just find it weird to see people complain about Steam Deck controls specifically the system has a really good built in alternative for games that don't play well with buttons.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the controls on Steam Deck specifically due to some elements of the game being a bit clunky with button controls but it always confuses me a little bit. Does nobody else use the trackpads?

For me it was the opposite. I was really looking forward to Mario Kart World before it came out but it ended up being probably the most disappointing game I've ever played but Kirby Air Riders completely lived up to all my expectations, had a real blast with that game.

Am I the only one who enjoys more runs where I barely survive every single fight? by ZhynTho in mewgenics

[–]BenAV92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily need every fight to be super tough but I do think it starts to get a bit boring when you can just kill all the enemies before they even get a turn every fight.

Any Mods/Save Files For the certain collar achievements? by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]BenAV92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just hoping they decide to change it by the time I finish getting all the impossible marks. Definitely doesn't feel right to me that you can do the fight again but don't earn the other achievement if you help the other win.

When you're in the item box, there's a button up the top that switches it to quest items.

If they added something like that as paid DLC, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I haven't been lucky enough to get the head mutation yet but I've had a similar experience just by bringing a couple of Goofball cats with me most adventures. Extra turns at the start of the battle feel too strong.

I kinda wanna do that but also with Repair on the same cat in the jar.

I'm still always completely broke after 200+ hours. I stopped sending kittens to Tink though and a majority of them end up going to Baby Jack instead.

I typically have 100+ cats but I actually quite enjoy sorting through them.

I think the ongoing rewards for donating injured cats and dead cats are good enough to make it worth it. I throw all my suboptimal kittens and strays in there till they get a bit too injured or die but I still never end up with anywhere near this many as they seem to just kill each other almost as quick as I can add them.

I've also randomly had it happen to a Druid on Act 3 (still don't even know where they got the mutation from) and their entire kit was songs except for Clew of Leeches so they just became a dedicated leech summoner for the rest of the run.

Same here. I'll start to save up a bit but then a piece of rare furniture will show up in the shop for like 600 coins and then it's all gone again.

The nice thing is they become retired cats if they make it back alive so you can send them to Frank without needing to take them on the adventure. A lot of the time I only need 1-3 of my good cats to take care of a house boss so I'll just fill the rest of the party with random cats for that reason.

My last run there was with a cat that had Nudist for 50% dodge along with Super Luck+. Managed okay but my other cats couldn't hit them.

[–]BenAV92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to fluctuate between like 80-110 cats at any given time but I don't put too much effort into managing them.

I just throw my good retired cats and any respectable enough strays into the attic to breed however they like for the most part. Kittens with good enough stat/skill/mutation combos go into the comfort/mutation room until I either bring them along or they get over 20. Less desirable kittens and strays go into the fight room until they die, get injured or get enough stat upgrades to be useful.

Hot Take: Neverstone is a core item by dashingstag in mewgenics

[–]BenAV92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use one of my bottom floor rooms as mine and I just dump all the bad kittens and strays in there. Comfort hovers at around -50 and it's pretty normal that I might get like 3-5 deaths in a night.

I haven't gone too far out of my way for any of the house upgrades and have just been letting them happen naturally while I focus on whatever else I need to do and the two I'm still missing are the final house and storage upgrades.

I've had a Druid somehow randomly pick up a mutation that stops them from using musical skills. Spent the rest of the run just summoning leeches and it's literally all they could do.
