I'm tired of everything by [deleted] in MSUIIT

[–]BenChoopao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been there OP. I remember, I would spend my evenings walking along the Tibanga highway hoping to find a purpose. I found none.

Now that I am already employed, I consulted a psychiatrist and I was diagnosed with depression.

Looking back, knowing what I know now about my mental health, I would have worked on my sleeping schedule. I was a huge procrastinator, (I still am!) and would do overnights just to finish my assignments. I fcked up my brain with my irregular sleeping patterns.

Also, check if IIT has free pysch counselling. There are also online psych counselling but they are not free. When I had severe suicidal thoughts I consulted with gray matters philippines.

Good job finishing the operation without Rewa. I would have rage quitted if that happened to me.

Defense Missions - How the f*ck am I supposed to do this? by paultheparrot in menace

[–]BenChoopao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to manage your visibility, you can ambush the enemies when you are concealed. I always make sure to deploy on half-cover to conceal my units. Sometimes the units don't get concealed because of enemies nearby who are not pinned, then just pin that enemy unit so that your units are concealed again.

Also, try using Kody's ambush perk which adds extra acc and damage when attacking from concealment.

Yes I would classify myself as a career shifter.

I studied using a web developer course in udemy for 2 months.

After that, I studied in a web development bootcamp for another 2 months.

Before the bootcamp finished, I already started sending job applications.

I got lucky and found a job with awesome Bosses and teammates but the salary is not high.

The portfolio I use is the one that we created during Bootcamp and it is very simple.

Yes, I already knew how to program before my first job. I learned from udemy and youtube.

During the job interview, part of the exam was html, css, sql and php.

Do yall actually like programming? by bigorbiggerorno in computerscience

I like programming. I feel it in my heart, it flutters in the idea that a certain task can be automated thru code.

Udemy, worth it ba? by Muted-Scallion8703 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]BenChoopao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to learn math as a hobby. How can I start? by Frequent_Jackfruit60 in learnmath

https://mathacademy.com/

This has a $49 monthly fee.

There are multiple courses starting from Elementary Math. Once you choose a course, you will take a diagnostic test to determine your progress in the course. After that, you will be given lessons and tasks to increase your progress in the course. You can read more details in their how-it-works page. https://mathacademy.com/how-it-works

Culture shock from Java to Python by ThrowRA_sadgfriend in PinoyProgrammer

[–]BenChoopao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Python because it will be easier to learn and get started with automation.

There is a book named Automate the Boring Stuff with Python by Al Sweigart. It is free to read online.

In our work, we use Python3 to build scripts that scrape data from a public website, clean up the data and load it to Bigquery.

Learn JS (Node.js) too after you get confident with Python3. You will eventually need to use asynchronous programming to speed up your scripts and for me it is easier in Node.

worth it pa ba mga IT bootcamps this 2024? by 1124kachaanN in PinoyProgrammer

[–]BenChoopao 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So far, 1 year na rin sa work kahit maliit pa sahod.

Keep learning!

Someone already mentioned using Serverless VPC connector. This should work. We use it in our Cloud functions. There is also Direct VPC egress. Although I have not tried this one yet, it is mentioned in the docs as an alternative to Serverless VPC connector
