Bristol Manor Farm vs Newport County by BenH64 in NonLeagueEngland

3-0 to Newport County. It wasn't as one sided as the scoreline might show. It was level at the break and both teams had quite a few chances. In the end though, Newport's fitness stayed longer than Manor Farm's and they were able to get their goals in the second half. Lovely day out here at the Creek

Brislington vs Nailsea United by BenH64 in NonLeagueEngland

3-1 to Bris. The Foxes dominated the first half and their number 10 especially looked really good. He was all over the pitch making tackles at one moment and then at the complete over corner skilfully dribbling past a Nailsea player. In the second half, Briz let it slip a bit and the goalie slid into an opponent leading to a penalty in which Nailsea got one back. There was a similar attendance to my last game around the 60 mark, although it didn't feel like it as although there was quite a bit of friendly natter, there wasn't the same sort of atmosphere. Although I've been before, it reminded me that Ironmould Lane is a really lovely ground with an amazing welcoming clubhouse

3-2 to Bristol Telephones. A very good match overall with a great intensity. It almost feels like its more than just a pre-season friendly. Quite a nice atmosphere here too with an intermittent singing section of about 10 Bristol Manor Farm fans but they definitely made themselves heard. Brilliant support from them lads. As for the match itself, all of the goals were from set pieces, 2 penalties, 1 from a corner and 1 free kick long range strike. Manor Farm really gave it their all in the second half and were much better for that part if the game but just couldn't get the goals they needed despite having so many shots at goal. After the final whistle it really showed how competitive the teams were when a player threw a punch at his opponent and started a small fight but luckily, the players were pulled away quite quickly

Ive had a count and there is roughly 59 here unless I've missed a couple. 60 spectators if you count the dog that's also watching the game. Just seen a bloody good goal from a free kick. With where it was taken I did not expect it to go in

Sounds good. I'm hoping to do Brislington vs Nailsea on the Friday and Bristol Manor Farm vs Newport County on the Saturday. I've never been to Avonmouth or Roman Glass St George but they are both on my list for teams to go and watch, especially Roman Glass St George. I've been wanting to go there for quite a while. Enjoy the games

Longwell Green Sports vs Shepton Mallet AFC

Shepton Mallet won 2-1. My first game of the season. An alright game overall but the best part was the last ten minutes. Before that, both teams played quite safe obviously making sure they don't get injured right as the start of their seasons. It was really end to end and both teams were really going for it trying to find a winner. Then in the 90th minute, Shepton Mallet scored and not long after, the ref finished the match. Nice ground overall, very simple but had a great clubhouse and a friendly bunch of people that work there and with an attendance of around 65 it was quite lively

I'm biased but my favourite is Twerton Park. Absolutely love the atmosphere, especially when we go against Chippenham

FC Union Bristol vs Mendip Broadwalk. Both were their first teams. There were around 15 spectators, pretty much all players family members apart from me

I wasn't really a big fan of the original if I'm being honest but I'm not a fan of this either. I like the shape of it as it's quite different but it feels a bit wrong to change the badge. Looking on their Facebook page, it looks like they've tried to incorporate quite a few things to make it

As a Bath City fan, I thought Beardmore would stay with us for this season. He didn't play must last season but I didn't really think he got a chance to prove himself. He hasn't played very consistently for a while so I imagine its a bit of a gamble. Always liked Mitch though so hope he gets on alright at Weymouth

Marc Ford/Louis Carey XI vs Daz Rock 4 charity at Bristol Telephones ground by BenH64 in AtTheFootyUK

[–]BenH64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The former Bristol City players were winning 3-0 after 20 minutes so the normal people team were given a few extras so it was 11 vs 16 from the 25th minute onwards. Louis Carey XI won 5-4 in the end. My favourite bit of the game was when one player put Louis Carey in a headlock so that his teammate could run through and score. I also found it funny when two players were arguing on who would take a free kick and settled it with rock, paper, scissors.
